I think we are in for a shock, I think the worm has turned and Villa boards will be going into meltdown come Sunday night.

Seriously seriously hope to be proved wrong, not just for AM sake but the fact that we so need these points looking at how everybody else just below us are starting to cue up.

If we win, then I'll be happily surprised to get a result against an average team with better team spirit than ours.
If we draw, then it would be the result I expected and a poor reflection on the team and management.
If we lose, then I'll be apathetic in defeat as it would sum up everything about my current feelings for the club.

Regardless of the result, I'll be more happy if we actually make a game of it, play with creativity, create some decent chances and have more than just a couple of shots on goal. We should be dominating sides like Swansea but in truth we'll be lucky to even win on the possession stats.

This is a tough game. Swansea have only let one opposition player score there this season, in their last game. But given our run of other fixtures, I really think we need to try and win.

There has to be changes from that godawful midfield we put out at WHL. Swansea are a good passing side and I think we may need to shift our 442 formation as a result.

I think I'd play: Herd, Petrov - N'Zogbia, Jenas, Gabby - Bent although I'd consider Bannan for N'Zogbia.

Bench: Guzan, Clark, Cuellar, Delph, Bannan / N'Zogbia, Heskey, Albrighton

So I'm still not finding a place for Gardner (or Ireland). I think  I would  put GG out on loan with a view to a quick recall if we get injuries or he's clearly brilliant.

If we lose, then I'll be apathetic in defeat as it would sum up everything about my current feelings for the club.

That apathy is evident in virtually all AV fans, and allows the manager to spout the same script after every loss; 'The players have let me, themselves and the fans down, and they owe us a good performance next week etc etc etc'.

We are now letting Gardner out on loan, which under different circumstances might be OK, but he's a remarkable young talent and IMO,  and he should be on our bench and being brought on every game to blend him into the team.

I fear for a loss against Swansea, and we are slowly spiralling towards the bottom six and could be fighting relegation after Christmas.

If we are unable to beat teams like Swansea, we deserve to go down.

Well, it can't be as bad as Monday can it? We have some friends coming over Sunday for a few drinks, really hope the Villa don't put me in a bad mood. We will either lose 3-0 or win 4-1. I have always defended Heskey, but after Monday night i have no more excuses left. Heskey, Collins and Petrove to come out of the side, Charlie, Jenas and Delph to come in. Gabby to be captain.
