Bottom 3 by January. It is all so predictable, and depressing.
Wonder what plan B is?

Not sure what else we could reasonably expect.
Compare the personnel in their midfield against ours and it is not difficult to understand why the create chances and we do not.

Maybe we should have picked more than one recognised midfielder then ?

Collins has been fucking atrocious and should be dropped. Our entire philosophy has to change.

6 goals conceded in the last three games.  After the first few matches I thought AM was going to sort  the defence out, but looks like we have slipped into Houllier mode again.

If he is going in to make it hard for them, why are we standing off them letting them play?

Get in their fuckin' faces and show some fuckin' pride in the shirt. They're a good side but we make them look like Barcelona - utterly embarrassing.

We chucked the towel in and expected a pasting before we started. Terrible.

Collins,Hutton,Heskey off. Nzogbia,Ireland,Albrighton on. We are a fucking laughing stock. Yes Spurs are favourites but why not have a go and lose.

Agree. But he's more likely to bring another defender on.

Absolute disgrace of a starting line up - a midfield of Hutton, Herd, Petrov and Heskey won't cause anyone any problems let alone a decent Spuds side. Surrendered the game before kick-off and fielded a side to avoid a hammering - and it looks like even that might fail. I've been willing to give McLeish the benefit of the doubt so far, but if this is how we approach any game I'm having serious doubts.

As I've tweeted and put on FB it is depressing that Hutton and Heskey are where we once had Ashley Young and James Milner, not to mention Herd (no disrespect to the young right back) where Gareth Barry was and James Collins where Martin Laursen used to be.

FFS, Spurs were so far behind us three seasons ago and now we go there with a white flag of surrender.

We don't even go through the motions of looking like an attacking force.

I can't hold onto it much longer.
I fucking hate Mcleish and what he has turned us into...a bunch of non descript, non combative, non entities.
I only hate Heskey more.

Albrighton did not even make the bench. Stick Bannan on with N'Zogbia and Ireland. Just go for it.
Sorry. To think Hutton is ahead of £10m Nzogbia and Albrighton looking to find some games and form again. Embarrassing

Problem is, AM has set the team up from a defensive point of view, we're now 2-0 down so where does he go from here? Does he change it straight away or play the first 15 mins with the same team (which i have a feeling he will do). We all know, that we're screwed so why not just go for broke? Put the attacking players on. Neville is really highlighting how poor hutton and collins were for the second goal too... Ouch!!

Mcleish is a disgrace, his team selection has meant spurs have the mental edge before the game even kicked off.

We cannot defend for toffee even with 6 defenders and Emile on the pitch.

Have to agree.  If we were non-league minnows drawn away to a Premier League team I would expect this mindset and attitude.  On paper Tottenham currently have the better side BUT we have got a team and players that can attack them and score goals.

I just can't understand why we are sitting back and giving them so much respect.  It makes you wonder how on earth we would approach playing Barcelona?! Incredibly disappointing and not good enough for Aston Villa, in my view.  Hopefully in the second half we will get in their faces, battle for every ball and play as if we want to get something out of the match.
