Everybody standing in the concourse for the first ten would be much better. A sky game shown globally with the team coming out to an empty stadium would work much better.

Sky tv would probably bring their own canned crowd noise to play over it.

I've wondered about how Sky 'enhance' games. Few weeks/months ago Sky Sports was free for a weekend. Watched QPR Villa and also a championship game on BBC [think one of the teams was Forest]. Different leagues and channels but the Sky coverage seemed 'glossier' - which doesn't necessarily equate to better.

This also has the added benefit of extra drinking time! My only worry is that the overall effect would be 'traffic delays'. Also if you are taking kids I think a game of how long can we all stay quiet might be easier than missing the start. Whenever I ve had kids with me they  can't wait to get put into the stands (then 5 minutes later they want to go back in for chips)

I'm commemorating the day by getting pissed up with a load of whinging Brummies and a couple of blokes from the Faroe Islands.

What if we score?

We'll lose five-one.

Following the example of supporters planning to attend the Wolves v Sunderland game on 4th December some Villa fans have decided to plan their own protest against modern football.

At the game against Manchester United on Saturday 3rd December Villa fans plan to remain silent for the first 5 minutes of the game, we will not applaud the players on their entrance onto the pitch, we will not sing our lungs out for the side, we will not cheer any goal or heckle any refereeing decision.

In protest at rising ticket prices and the commodification of football which has priced the average fan out the game whilst lavishing riches on agents, directors and players we will show the world what football would be like without the fans.

Plans are in their embryonic stages, but the idea will be for home and away supporters to remain silent for the first 5 minutes of this match, bring banners expressing your disatisfaction at how our game has been sold off. Once the 5 minutes is up we'll launch into a chorus of a chosen song and lift the roof off VP.

Like i say this in in it's early stages so please propose any ideas.

If you want to "Take Back the Game" then be "Happy With What You Get". The pressure to succeed and please the fans translates into more spending which then dictates a raise in the cost of tickets. If you have asked to get a new players, get a new manager, fire a player you are then part of the problem.

Drop our trousers?

You first!

It'll end up like a Brian Rix Whitehall farce.

Ahh... no change there then.

Horrible idea, it won't do anything.

Don't get me wrong, I support the idea completely, I just don't think this is an effective way to go about it.

Glad that's all cleared up then.

That made me chuckle. Meant that I hate this particular idea of protest, but back the 'movement' or whatever you want to call it.
