My super secret sources tell me Lerner and Lambert had a "secret" meeting at Lerner's house. And that Villa's media guy tipped Sky off about the "within 48 hours" line they peddled. And lastly that Sky have been told they can film today around lunch time.

Ignore it if you like, but I trust the guy.

On a very positive note, if PL does come to us, then it will show the footballing world that we CAN attract mangers from other clubs and that we ARE still regarded as a big name after the Martinez shenanigans of last year.  Prizing away one of the countries top up-and-coming mangers from a fellow Premier League side who finished above us shows just how much might we still have.  If this comes off then congrats to Lerner and the board..... 8)

I find it somewhat ironic however that many people thought MON was going to move on from Villa to take  the Man U job........ He is now at Sunderland.......

Nobody who saw the way MON managed Villa close up would have realistically expected him to get Manure.

Talksport still banging on about how Aston Villa is "a step down" for Lambert...

Let them bang on all they like. We've landed a manager with real potential, that's all that matters. I actually think we're making a better appointment than Liverpool.
Bit like Talksport is a step down from Hospital Radio

Exactly how I feel.  Lambert was my No1 choice from the very start with.

I can see Rodgers going to 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' turning into a total disaster.  Very surprised at that one.

I hope Fat Quinny, gives us his blessing - he's the one I'm worried about....ahem.

What a cock, end of previous season, he was banging on about how L-'The Mighty Reds YNWA' would win the league with King Kenneth, bellend. Totally, biased and narrow-minded view. Most of them are like that on TalkShite - it's all for affect so they get callers ringing in to have a go - tabloid Radio.

Talksport know that this is the best way to wind up Villa fans: tell the Villans they're a small club.  They did the same when we got Bent.

I've found it really interesting comparing and contrasting the coverage and angles the press have gone for in covering the Villa and Liverpool management appointments and - possibly I'm being a little too sensitive - but it strikes me that they were always going to put a negative spin on all things Villa.  The sooner we have more people in the UK media willing to fight our corner (and fighting for Birmingham/the Midlands in general, too) the better because it genuinely affects our profile and image.

On the bright side, through all the negativity I've heard from Newcastle, Everton, Norwich fans and so on, suggesting that this is a step down or sideways move for Lambert, I do sense fear.  They all know this has the potential to be a great appointment and that the real Aston Villa could very soon be back.

I do hope Lambert is not invited to dinner in Delia's house tonight? it could all go wrong there.

Where is Lerner's house?

Or so that people complain about them on fans' sites?

Good luck to Paul, if the suggestions are correct. Onwards and upwards to new glories, and beyond!

Where is Lerner's house?

Not far from Bodymoor I think - near Kingsbury Water Park

Agree 100% with you there Pete. I hope we get the dippers away early in the season. I reckon we'll give them a game this year.

In the world of Shelley perspective there are NO bigger clubs than Aston Villa!
