Brilliant stuff on Talksport. A norwich fan calls up, can't believe Lambert has quit for Villa. Doesn't get why Villa and not a HUGE club like Liverpool as Norwich and Villa are apparently equal in size, fan base, finance and player quality!!!! Then Mick Quinn pipes up giving it you have to be realistic but Villa are a bigger club, Im like yea that right Mick, hit him with the facts....then he gives it, "Villa average 40,000 every game and their ground holds 50,000 plus"......Hmmmmm!!

Ive just had to turn talk sport off! it was the comment that McLeish had a good season and kept us up that got to me! ha
I had a little chuckle to that one myself....Im still listening to work out who I would draw a cock on when asleep more....Durham or Quinn!?

lol i dont mind durham, i tend to agree with him!

Quinny means well is just clueless!

*same tune as the Mancini song*

He came from Scottish moors,
he's come to bodymoor!
Paul Lambert! Oh oh oh!

or, alternatively:

He was stuck with Delia Smith,
Now he's in B6!
Paul Lambert! Oh oh oh!

Hopefully from next season Villa can start proving that they are a big club in terms of performances, results and crowds, and if Paul lambert is the man that turns things around then I'd be delighted.

I'll be interested in his transfer dealings as he's only really bought small fry.

Small fry as opposed to Stephen Fry, who was a Norwich fan long before Lambert arrived.

Have I just come up with Heskeys replacement?

I think I'm right in saying that after two successive promotions Lambert guided Norwich to a higher position in the PL than Martinez managed in a few seasons at Wigan. It would seem that Martinez and/or his advisors had talks with Liverpool and Villa but he wasn't actually offered either job. Of course according to Dave Whelan he stayed because he wasn't happy with the job circumstances at Liverpool and Villa aren't big enough (yawn). Big enough for him to want to talk to us though. And when Roberto goes it will be to one the biggest clubs in Europe. Yep, think I've heard you mention that one before as well Dave.

Martinez won't be going anywhere because everyone knows how shit he is.

How does a rolling contract work anyway?  How much notice do you need to give before the contract is rolled over?  2 weeks wages compo to Norwich?

Ah, thought maybe it was a 1st of June thing like the transfer window.  Still that's not too bad, it's not like it's a 3 or 4 year contract we have to compensate the Budgies for.

CLUB STATEMENT ON PAUL LAMBERT

The Club regrets to confirm that Paul Lambert has offered his resignation from his position as Norwich City Manager.

We have fought hard to keep Paul at Norwich City and have not accepted his resignation whilst discussions with another club are taking place.

However, whatever happens, we want to place on record our sincere gratitude for everything Paul has done for the Club over the last three fantastic seasons.

When Paul joined us in August 2009 we were in 66th position in the English football pyramid and the Club was on the brink of financial meltdown.

Today we are a Barclays Premier League football club, on a financially sound footing and with a stadium full to capacity.

Discussions with Paul throughout the last few days have been professional and amicable. Paul has already earned his place in Norwich City Football Club history and, no matter what happens, will always have a friendly welcome at Carrow Road.

Meanwhile, contrary to some media speculation, the Club does not need to sell any players and the finances are in place to substantially strengthen the excellent squad which helped us finish in 12th position in the Premier League last season.

Rest assured that everyone behind the scenes at Carrow Road remains absolutely focused on continuing to help the Club progress.

Okay, so now, can we just sign him up as manager with ease?

I don't know, so I'm asking. Are things easy from now, or difficult?

Not really. TSM resigned last year and that wrangled on for a while. It is though a pretty clear sign though that he wants to sign for somebody else. Presumably us.
