With Lamberts links to the Bundesliga who's to say he isn't already aware of the next Demba Ba or Papiss Cisse?

Norwich have been shopping in a different market to us, same as we dont have access to the Man City/Chelsea pool of players.

All I'll say is, if Lambert rolled up at the Hawthorns tomorrow I'd be gutted at a missed opportunity, I think he'd be a big success there. However , if Martinez took the Liverpool job I'd piss myself stupid, and I'd have a fiver on the opposition every time they drew a lower league club in the cup.

I really cant see Lambert leaving Norwich to go to the Baggies. That genuinely is a sideways move.

Yeah, unless they're promising him loads of money and tens of millions to spend, then I just can't see it.

No, I can't either to be fair (although they have tabs on him according to reports). Villa would be the bigger draw, no question.

I was thinking more that its not a bad indicator of a managers stature should you see him take a job elsewhere.

I'd see Lambert as an opportunity missed, and Martinez as a bullet dodged.

I think this video from tonight adds more weight to Lambert's uncertain future at Norwich. I think the line "whatever happens I've had unbelievable times" does not sound like a man who's committed to the club.

"Paul Lambert at POS dinner"

Not very complimentary of the food then.

That sounds to me very much like a manager who isn't going to be there next year - and knows it.

I wonder if we've tapped him up? I hope so.

Wowzers! It certainly doesn't look like he's staying at Norwich. I mentioned before about him staying for the Celtic testimonial that has only made me think even more that I don't think he'll be going anywhere til after then.  Fingers crossed he'll be our new manager a week tomorrow.

I think norwich tend to play a diamon don't they? Would be interesting to see that. Would suit Ireland, bannan, possibly delph and Gardner. Not sure where it leaves CNZ and think it leaves albrighton out in the cold

I wonder if he always wants to play with a big man up top. And it presumably needs better full backs to add the width and crossing ability.

Anyway, I'd still prefer Rodgers I think

Don't know about always playing a diamond - he seems to ensure the squad is very adaptable and is quite prepared to totally change the team's tactics mid-way through a game to counter what the opposition are doing or expose a weakness in the opposition. That's always a sign of a good manager to me. They've always looked better after the half-time team talk which again, always suggests a good manager to me. I think Rodgers would still be my first choice too purely because of their playing style and having read about what he does in training but I wouldn't be opposed to Lambert in the slightest, even if it's for different reasons.

Why what does Rodgers do in training?

Regardless of what formations they play now, both aforementioned managers have demonstrated this season they're able to get the most from the resources at their disposal - the sign of a good coach I'd say and the sort we should be after.

the point I was making to Monty yesterday. Both are good managers, but Lambert certainly isn't as one dimensional as some would have you believe. He isn't direct, he isn't long ball, but can adapt based on circumstance. Something our Martin could never so. I watched Norwich keep up and often out-Arsenal, Arsenal. I also know his teams are superb at set pieces. Rodgers is good. Lambert for me is the better option for us right now because of his versatility.

Lambert will need to prove next season that he can sustain his success of this season . I am not sure so leave him at Norwich for now.
