He could get us back to around 9th in the short term with £10m, but if we're to have a decent crack again that £20-30m is needed regardless of who the manager is.

To be honest I'd sell Bent.  I think there are better foreign players out there who'd cost half the amount.

I'd keep him, good goalscorers are very hard to come by.

Would much prefer Martinez but would happy be with Lambert.

Me too...he's a goalscorer pure and simple and they are few and far between in this league...unless you have £35 million to splash on the likes of Aguero and co..

I don't see the point in selling Bent to get a foreign striker in who MIGHT score the same goals.

Lambert would be the best choice IMO, although I can see Di Matteo getting it once Chelski get beat on Saturday.

I think that RDM is more likely to stay at Chelsea if they lose than if they win.

If they win, they'll be able to attract a higher profile manager. If they lose, they might just decide to stick with the guy who's done a pretty good job.

RDM isnt actually managing the team.  The old guard are.  Don't want him.

Apart from nobody's on Twitter going on heresay about Lambert coming to us is there any reliable/credible sources that actually suggests we want Lambert in the first place?

Not really.

Martinez, Rodgers, Lambert, Poyet would be my list right now.

Yep as realistic choices they'd do. We should not sell Bent whatever the scenario. He managed to score some goals in Mcleish's team, imagine what he could do with a team that attacks.

Yea I can see the appeal of going for a younger manager.

I will honestly say I don't know too much about Lambert's or Rodgers which would excite me enough if either were our manager, but that's just me who's watched less football this season. I've watched Swansea and Norwich a few times this season and have times looked good especially for a promotion team. I know what Martinez can do and I like him but not sure if I'm 100% sold on him being our new manager. Poyet is an interesting one.

I also disagree Risso, as I feel Bent is the one true match winner we have at the moment.  I would much prefer us to keep Bent and build the side around him.  He is a proven Premiership goalscorer and those are very hard to come by.  If we can build a team around Bent, then I would bring in Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield as his understudy, as I think he is a similar player.  Hopefully after a couple of seasons, Rhodes would be a ready made replacement for Bent.
