oh bollox..why do we do it?  10 men in a Derby!!?? bollo

Well it was the worst red card ever.

Someone said Herd was a liability to himself earlier..sad as did not do anything much to get card! Villa luck??

Page 1 on this thread, second last post.

Can't blame Herd though. He'd been super cool and composed, certainly convincing me he could make that role his own.

How that rotund twat is fit to referee is beyond me. I swear these officials make it up as they go along. Disgraceful. Between him and his sidekick with the flag they have ruined this game.

Phat Dowd costs us yet again the bloke is useless.

but if the linesman says he stamped on him, Dowd has no option but to send the player of and award a pen, whether he's seen it or not.
its the linesmans fault not Dowd's

Could be wrong but i got the distinct impression that Herd did leave his boot in on the Albion player, was that enough though.

It looked to me like the guy pulled on his foot and he tried to shake himself loose.  You see stuff like that all the time in rugby and it looks very familiar.

I'm concerned that we still can't hold onto the ball. And we'll need to now.

Considering the fact that pretty much every pundit has said that it is a baffling decision after watching numerous replays I'm guessing no.

May be claret tinted glasses on my part but it looked like his foot was tangled with Olsson and he just pulled it out, the linesman was on the other side so it may have looked like he stamped on him, I think it was a bad decision.

Nothing has been said about Olsson grabbing a fist full of Heards shirt

That's what I think happened, although I think the 'bad' is a generous description.

I'd say McLeish is taking a bit of a risk here, not changing things around a bit. I hope he's not trying too hard to shed that 'negative' reputation - Alex, we'll be fine about getting a draw out of this one!

I think the fact Olsson stood up and was jogging next to Herd after the incident was a huge fucking clue that Herd didn't do anything. Olsson doesn't shy away from confrontation and I have no doubt if Herd had gone for a stomp, Olsson woulda reacted in some way, not jogged next to him.

Can you see us being composed enough to play for a draw?  We will be shitting it as it is.

It's a horrible thing to admit, but they are much better at playing, and retaining, the ball than us. It could cost us.
