Saw Nige (and had a lovely little chat) at the Forest semi final at Villa Park.
He was clearly very happy to be there and having a great time.

And also at West Ham a few years ago. He was great.

The only time I have ever come across Nigel Kennedy was before the Atletico Madrid game all those years ago when he almost ran over my foot in that graffitied BMW he had in the North Stand car park.

I think it was a Jag.

Nor me, apart from as a small child when I could name any car going down Kingsbury Road from my vantage point on the ninth floor of Topcliffe House on the Vale. But I saw Nige’s Jag dozens of times when I used to sell H&V opposite the Trinity Road gates.

He had a season ticket directly in front of us in the Trinity Road for a couple of seasons years back. Given his schedule he got to a lot of games. Always approachable, good for a chat with anyone and enjoyed a halftime pie. Coincidentally ex Home secretary Jackie Smith sat two rows in front.

I've never met any of our famous fans, sadly. Saw Benjamin Zephaniah in the Lower Holte once, but that's it.

(I shook Chris Woakes's hand, but that was at Edgbaston and before he'd been capped by England, so don't count that one.)
