I'm assuming Tiswas/Swap Shop.
I don't remember hearing that but I was only a babby
Yup.
Tizwas / Celtic / Left Side for me.

Same here. Back then in the late 70s early 80s I’d say a majority were Celtic and Tiswas. Only mommy’s boys and girls watched Swap Shop and given the 1976 shenanigans there was little love for Rangers.

Same here!

I remember being on the Holte with the left side right side thing as late as 84-85.

However, 40 years later, for the life of me, I can not remember whether it was left or right side as you looked at the stand from the pitch, or as you stood on it.

I thought it was as you were looking at the pitch so the left side was closest to Trinity Road.

Trinity road side was the left. Witton Lane the right.

We always stood slightly nearer the Trinity. Left was and has always remained better than Right.
As for Tiswas or Swapshop ? Sally James.

Only squares watched Swap Shop.

The same demographic whose parents bought them BBC Micros.

Fin Smith played really well for the England eggchasers today.

He is a big Villa fan.

The downfall of Tiswas can be tracked back to Bob Carolgees' introduction of Spit the Dog's successor Cough the Cat. What the fuck were you thinking of Bob?

No, don’t remember Cough the Cat. Was it on once or twice?  I still to this day don’t know who the Phantom Flan Flinger was.

Cough the Cat was indeed a poor addition to the gang. The Phantom Flan Flinger was the darkest fiend in the cosmos - better for you to not have crossed paths.

It sounds like all you oldies were just on LSD and none of this actually happened.

I remember the Phantom Raspberry Blower.

… Of Old London Town.

I am sure I read in H&V the Phantom Flan Flinger was a Villa supporter.

Tiswas went off the rails when all the main presenters departed and people like Den Hegarty and Gordon Astley took over.
