She has had an operation and recovering from it? Is that a big deal? Also as far as I'm aware, she is not the celebrity Villa fan, William is (and hopefully George).

Bone idle. The problem is that they don't want to work, its a generational thing. The father doesn't work so the son doesn't etc etc.
They prefer to laze around watching their 60" TV's at our expense, they have kids that we have to pick up the tab for, and get massive houses as a result,  jumping the queue. The taxpayer shouldn't have to foot the bill, get them to work collecting litter I say.

Hopefully the underlying condition isn't too serious, but understandable she's taken a step when they have a busy schedule when it comes to public engagements. Get well soon Kate, and hopefully it's not long till we see you down at Villa Park with the boys.

In 1906 PG Wodehouse was hired to contribute a topical ditty to a musical called 'The Beauty of Bath' and his effort was a poem called 'Mr Chamberlain' which included the lines:

He play for Aston Villa by way of keeping fit,
He runs a mile in four fifteen and wrestles Hackenschmidt.

The latter appearing to be a wrestler and weightlifter of the day.

There was loads of information about Joe at Brum Uni, as you'd expect, but I don't recall any mention of a connection to Villa. It's possibly because we were formed in 1874 and he moved back to London not long after that. Obviously the league didn't start until 1888, so I guess there wasn't much to support until then.
