He's playing far enough back that he's virtually playing centre half already most of the time.

I've been away for a couple of days so apologies if this has already been picked up:

http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2011/08/27/alex-mcleish-tips-emile-heskey-to-convert-to-centre-half-one-day-97319-29312427/

Heaven help us

Maybe in the Championship he might get away with it against teams who hoof the ball, but in the Prem he's get slaughtered.

He'd have rings ran around him. Hopefully he'll be back at Blues by then.

Here's hoping

Why does AM have to come out with such bollocks?

Anyone who has seen Heskey jump for the the ball 10 minutes before it arrives/after it has gone and his tackl;e near the end on Sat would know that a centre half he aint

I'm not sure what I find more worrying, the fact that he thinks it or that he's said it publicly.

I think Heskey can be a useful player still if used properly, but I'm struggling to see him ever be a successful centre back.

I really can't see any use for him at all on a football pitch.

Not in a million years could Heskey be used as a regular CB. In an emergency if you've used all your subs and have a current CB injured/sent off and Heskey is on the pitch, then yes, but as a regular starter there?

I remember Daveeed Ginola saying he'd play in defence before he retired

He said "he might even one day have to fill in at centre-half".

What's the big deal?

What's the big deal?

That he even thought it?

Ah I see - thought crime, that's the worst type.
