1-0 scrappy win , but the points are the main thing , 2 wins at home against blackburn and wolves would give us a very decent start ,hopefully we will some chances created as bent has had very little supply in recent games and the lack of on target goal attempts is concerning.

Can't see a problem here, Blackburn have a poor record at VP in the last 10 years and are going down.

2-0 win.

Bent is nailed on to score because I just dropped him from my Fantasy team.

I think a 2-0 win, Bent with one and Collins.
I don't see what Ireland has actually done to warrant so many people putting him in the side?

I, too, like Mazrim's formation, with which I can see us scoring a goal in each half; Bent & Charlie Zog the scorers. Villa 2 - 0 Blackburn.

As long as Shay's fit I think we'll win.

If we don't win this one we are in trouble.

2-0. Bent and N'Zog.

I like Mazrim's team but would think about Bannan in place of Ireland.

I'm so excited about playing Blackburn. It's the fixture I always look out for when the fixture list is published.

Don't think he's done much at all except give one or two glimpses of how good he could be, so I'd be tempted to give him some game time to prove himself/gain confidence/see what he can do. If it doesn't work out then replace with Bannan/Albrighton. Blackburn are the sort of team he could do well against.

The referee for the match is Stuart Attwell (Nuneaton)

Last season we were unbeaten with him in charge, while Blackburn drew in the one game he oversaw.

The assistants will be Andy Halliday (yellow flag) and Charles Breakspear (chequered flag). Kevin Wright is 4th official.

I see this as quite an important game to win. First home game under AM, against a dire Blackburn who I tip to make the drop. Win and play well, and the sun will shine over VP and give the team and us a nice confidence boost. Whereas a poor result, performance and team selection will see a lot of nerves and restlessness in the run up to the Hereford game and put a lot more pressure on us to beat the dogheads.

I'm going for a nervy 2-1 win.

Ref from Nuneaton?
Could be a bit of a Villa fan? Cov? Nuneaton Borough? Shall I get my mate Barry to go round and threaten him, but nicely?
