As ever, a) the family might not have wanted it and b) ex-players die regularly and if we had a silence for them all we'd have one almost every week.
Sorry to disagree with you Dave, fair enough if the family asked for there to be no tribute, but I don't think that ex Villa players die every other week. We should recognise the passing to The Holte End In The Sky  all people who have contributed to the history of our club be they players who we sing songs about or the likes of the people most of us never hear about........those who have given most of their working lives to the club in whatever capacity.
A scrolling list of names on the big screen at the last home game of the season simply isn't good enough for a club with our proud history of doing things the right way.

It's more than we used to do, and let's be realistic. Thousands have played or worked for the Villa over the years. Do you really think they should all get a minute's silence, and if so where do you draw the line?

Often a minutes silence is disrupted by the mindless minority and it can end up causing more distress- for this reason i think the minutes applause is a better option but as dave rightly says , where do you draw the line?

Bad result today but on our note, quite a few lads came and join us today, shows it's not just us who wants to get VP rocking.

Great effort tonight again lads, if there's one positive to be taken from it tonight, its you lot at the back of L1 having a blast.  Keep it up, I do join in in L2 despite people lookin at me as if I'm a bit weird singing on the Holte End.

Nice one, L2 was going for it most of the game mate, you can always just move over, never be ashamed to sing.

Never ashamed mate, and no need to move either as I provide your singing link across to L3 ;-)

I think people are starting to get used to it and starting to join in here and there, if you keep it up it'll keep spreading.

Keep the Faith.

The atmosphere was utterly dreadful tonight, fair play for trying to get it going

Its funny because down in L1/L2 and probably L3 it sounds great and we keep up the noise levels so it never feels like a bad atmosphere.
