Anyone remember when Doug got involved with Good Hope hospital?
The ambulances they used for transporting the elderly had a rather distinctive claret & blue band on the side.

I would have thought the elderly would prefer some nice peace and quiet not a band on the ambulance.

I got the wife to plant Villa coloured flowers (or as close as she could get) in the garden this year.

Saw a young lad playing football in the local park with his dad wearing the hummel Cows shirt, his dad saw me wearing the 80-81 retro shirt n proudly told his young son of our once great days.

Heard Danny Baker mention Jimmy Rimmer playing for the Villa this morning.

I heard that too. Though to be fair, anyone else who was listening to Danny Baker this morning would have heard it.

In Lagos, Nigeria, there is a domestic flight coordinator with an Acorns Villa shirt, (given to him by me).

I was watching Piers Morgans Life Stories, the one on Bruce Forsyth. I saw Jimmy Rimmer on it.

Tenuous but...

I drove to Tewkesbury the other day, passed a sign to the village of Aston Somerville (if only I had some white paint with me) and parked in the car park next to the Abbey and the cricket club. The cricket club sign is in glorious claret and blue.
On the way home I followed a Daewoo with a Villa badge in the back window for a couple of miles.

On the flowers theme, we have hydrangeas of claret and blue.

There's a house on the way into Weymouth, on the right hand side just past the Old Ship Inn, with a stained glass window of the old stripey badge.

Painting my front door (lovely shade of claret!) old guy stopped for a chat as he noticed my hanging baskets claret and blue....he's from the south west and used to play for Villa pre and post war and knew my uncle and his two lads who also played! When he stopped playing he stayed in this neck of the woods cos he fell in love and married local girl!!!
Legend!

Did he tell you his name?
Sorry for the massively late response Dave. No, didn't get his name but I could hang around the street until I bump into him. Been there a couple of years and not seen him before or since. If I go knocking on doors will you put up the bail?
