If we're staying as we are Petrov as captain is disappointing, it should be Delph and Makoun in the middle, but as Mcleish has said he wants to buy a midfield general, it's even scarier that Petrov will stay as captain as it means he'll be above both of Makoun and Delph in the pecking order which is a real shame.  Don't expect the kids to get much of a chance under Mcleish, Warnock over Clark, Heskey over Albrighton, Ireland over Bannan, Petrov over Delph seems to be the way we're going, and he signed a 35 year old keeper.

Perhaps an entertaining 2-2 draw.

We're not going to play Heskey wide left surely?

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow but nothing will burst the pre-season optimistic bubble quite like Ivanhoe being in the team. Other than a 0-6 like Newcastle last year anyway!

And I reckon he'll go Given, Young, Collins, Dunne, Warnock, Petrov, Makoun, Ireland, Heskey, N'Zogbia, Bent.

So do I, and that's the team I'd play too. Hopefully Albrighton or bannan can displace Heskey in that formation, but I wouldn't play them from the start tomorrow.

subs: Guzan, Clark, Lichaj, Delph, Bannan, Albrighton, Gabby

Why not Gabby instead of Heskey?

Given
Young - Collins - Dunne - Warnock
Petrov - Makoun
Gabby - N'Zogbia - Heskey
Bent

Is what I see. Not a team I'd choose - and one that lucks very awkward to me. But there you go.

4-5-1

Given
Young
Warnock
Dunne
Collins
Petrov (c)
Makoun
Albrighton
Agbonlahor
Ireland
Bent

Need a good start because i think our fitness will be not as good as theirs - this is their 7th game of the season! So they should be match fit.

We'll win 2-0 tomorrow, and spark a run that will see us top till December.

We'll then get a few injuries, cop a couple of spankings and a lack of funds availiable to strengthen will see us fade out to sixth.

On the basis that Fulham have had six weeks of competitive fixtures to get sharp for the season, I'll be happy to come away with a point. 1-1

I see maybe Gabby off Bent, rather than Ireland, N'Zog right, Heskey left, I'd rather Bannan left though.

I'd like Gabby to be in - he's got a good record against Fulham.
AM been talking up Heskey so he's bound to play him.

I've held my tongue all summer, but now we're here, on the eve of a drubbing as we are ill equipped/prepared

0-3 loss, Given MOM
