I have a recollection of a story someone told me about twenty years ago. If I remember right his mate went out with Jim Walker's daughter and he got to meet him. Apparently on him being introduced to people, instead if a 'Hi' or 'Hi, I'm Jim' he preferred 'Hi, Jim Walker, Villa physio'.

Random spot last night of an ex footballer and now ex manager - Paul Ince was sitting four seats directly in front of me at the Liverpool Philharmonic as we both witnessed the legend that is Bobby Womack. Mr Ince still lives on the Wirrall I believe.

Didn't Ince get sacked by Blackpool last week partly on account he wasn't actually at the club? Dosen't strike me as a workaholic football manager, in at 8am and leaving at 6pm, put it it this way.

He used to work at The Belfry after retiring and I must say that doesn't sound like him although he may have mellowed, he always came across as an absolute gent and never gave it the big 'I am' although he was always delighted to talk about football.

His daughter married Mark Delaney.

I always remember the shock at looking up his age when he was our physio, thinking he wasn't far off 70 and discovering he was only in his mid 50s!

Mind you I'm 24 going on 44 so one to talk!

The wolves players ( well about 10 of them) were in the Greenhouse In Mere Green last year. It was the Saturday that they were effectively, although not mathematically, relegated.
I regularly perform magic in there, so the manager came over and asked me to go and cheer them up. He said " but for fucks sale don't mention football or today "

My opening line was" alright lads, good day ?"

To be fair they were sound and did have a laugh. I'm not sure of the player ( looked Scandinavian ) but when he put his left hand out and not his right one,I gave him loads about i'd seen him play and it came as no surprise. The others loved that.

Bless him Stephen Hunt gave me a cash tip at the end.

I've also performed for Jamie Ohara and his mrs in there. Both very nice and down to earth.

This is very off topic but yesterday I read a review of one of Bobby Womack's recent gigs where he was so tired at the end of the show that he took his microphone into the dressing room and sang his encore from a seat in there.

I met Jim Walker and Dave Sexton at Bodymore many moons ago and they were both very down to earth.

I once got pissed with 'Chrissy Price' in Butlins (yes I'm not proud, it was a free weekend) a few years back now, but great afternoon/evening and much to Chris delight/annoyance I sang the Chrissy price song. He bought me  a pint ha!! Lovely man. Loved the villa too.

None of the others are ex-Villa players accused of fighting in a car park.
