He was an a Gent and thanked me for my help.I thanked for the great goals and memories, and of I went.Couldnt quite beleive I had met him at Ikea!Never post here again. You will never, ever top this one.

Has Bosnich gone Oriental in a desperate ploy to get the Asian markets onside? Very sinister.
Just wanted to say how much I'm loving this thread. Particularly impressed by the "greatest first post ever" air conditioning at the Sty story (!!!) and the "Brian Little at Ikea" tale. Quite jealous of that one, that must have felt like winning the lottery.Don't really have anything to contribute myself, other than to say that my extremely brief and to date once-only meetings with Messrs Mortimer, Morley and McGrath (is there a pattern there?) have all helped to confirm their legendary status. My mate and I were lucky to have a bit of a chat with Paul McGrath and what a lovely, charming, totally self-effacing bloke he is.
He came to our school in fifth year, and we were delighted in the football team to have gained this talent, it was like Villa signing Cristiano Ronaldo.I'd played against him in the Birmingham Boys league a few times, he played for Erdington Star with Darren Byfield and they were untouchable, Byfield in particular roasted me for 90 minutes when I was up against him at left back once.He was never as quick as the other rated lads but he had so much skill and time on the ball, and he never gave it the big one despite being as good as he was, he was a proper team player.
