I have been watching the occasional non-league match for a few seasons now. Given the nonsense happening at Villa I have decided to give up my season ticket and become committed to a lower league club, Bradford Park Avenue, for a season. The atmosphere and conversation at such games is fine and the players show commitment, especially when playing FC Utd (crowds of 2000 approx). Being an old git now (before the Third Div days of glory) it sort of reminds me of what the Premiership has lost. I hope to be back but Learner & Faulkner don't own me.

Must admit I've thought of doing this for a season as well, I get to the odd Altrincham game up here in Mancland and always enjoy it.

Some of the lower leagues got their fixtures yesterday.

It seems that this Non-League Day is also scheduled to be the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup - so some games are waiting to be confirmed.

I quite fancy going to a few FA Cup early round games. The 1st Round Proper doesn't clash with any Villa game. We could get tickets to cheer for Whoeverisplayingcrawleyorswindon FC.

Gornal, who I suggested to visit, are away at Rugby Town if they get through the Extra Preliminary Round

I'll watch anything. Might pop to Halesowen this season. Went out with a bird from there and I always said I'd go, but I never managed to make it for the 6 years I put up with her, I should have tried harder.

Every time I read their name, I can't help thinking it sounds like a character from Star Trek - is their football set to "stun"?

Arse. Thanks for the info Sticky.

Romulus sounds more like the brother of Remus to me.  8)
