Dave W knows where the ground is, he was questioning whether, coming from Solihull, they are a Birmingham team.
Moor Green unquestionably were, but Solihull Moors?

They have Solihull in their name, and their stadium is in Solihull so I would say no.

So they are not the third biggest club in Birmingham as you stated earlier!

So we're back to either Sutton Coldfield Town or Romulus who are both Northern League South Division or if you don't count Sutton as part of Brum (and some don't) then we're down to Pilkington XXX, Cadbury Athletic, Castle Vale and Castle Vale JKS who are all in Midland Combination Premier.

Aston Villa - 1st tier
Birmingham City - 2nd tier
Sutton Coldfield Town & Romulus - 8th tier
Pilkington XXX, Cadbury Athletic, Castle Vale & Castle Vale JKS - 10th tier

Is that correct?

Yep, sounds about right, at a push you could include Boldmere St Michael and Highgate at 9th tier.
Altogether pretty dismal really.

The Black Country is better:

West Brom & Wolves - 1st tier
Walsall - 3rd tier
Rushall - 7th tier (Chasetown at a real push)
Stourbridge & Halesowen- 8th tier
Causeway, Tipton, Tividale & Willenhall - 9th tier
AFC Wulfrunians, Black Country Rangers, Cradley Heath, Bustleholme, Dudley Sports, Dudley Town, Goodrich, Gornal, Darlaston, Lye, Sporting Khalsa, Wolverhampton Sporting, Wolves Casuals, Wednesfiels & Walsall Wood - 10th tier.

Whether it is or not, Birmingham's non-league scene is still poor.

With the exception of London, isn't the same true for most big cities? The big city clubs tend to be in the league leaving teams from smaller towns in the non-league pyramid. Struggling to think of too many big non-league clubs from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol, etc. One or two but not loads.

Sort of true, but in all of those cities you can watch plenty of non-league football at step 4 (Northern, Southern and Isthmian leagues) and above, in Brum there is nothing and hasn't been since Moor Green went to Solihull. Even Bristol has Mangotsfield.

I went to watch Sutton for a game last season - they were 6-0 up at half time.  I reckon I could've got a game in the team they were playing (Leek Town)!

Midland Combination Premier so level 10.

I have been watching the occasional non-league match for a few seasons now. Given the nonsense happening at Villa I have decided to give up my season ticket and become committed to a lower league club, Bradford Park Avenue, for a season. The atmosphere and conversation at such games is fine and the players show commitment, especially when playing FC Utd (crowds of 2000 approx). Being an old git now (before the Third Div days of glory) it sort of reminds me of what the Premiership has lost. I hope to be back but Learner & Faulkner don't own me.
