Don't worry, apparently sky have now stopped taking bets on Shay Given coming to us.

Maybe  the time to look for some new blood instead of trawling through the usual stuff.

Given is surely to old and although so was Friedal IMO Friedal was a safer goalkeeper altogether.

So how about targets that are either unsettled or looking for new opportunities that we may be able to get.....How about.

Fraser Foster, 22 Great season for Norwich and predicted to be one of the new breed of up and coming keepers.

Igor Akinfeev, still young, very experienced all the same and gettable.

Sergio Asenjo, This is the fella that has been sidelined for David de Gea at Athletico he's been very unhappy about this all season long, a lot in Spain reckon he is the better keeper, word is he wants to move on in spite of the fact that De Gea may end up at Man Utd. He would be my choice, very talented by all accounts.

Of course Foster is the obvious and that's usually the road we take, but who would have thought Bent.

Another great keeper

How was Friedel a safer option than Given?

Tomorrow's....

March....
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1369477/Aston-Villa-planning-raid-Shay-Given.html

Two articles from The Mail. The first says he is willing to take a pay cut on his 80k a week wages, the second that he is demanding we match his 85k a week wages. Total bollocks and lazy journalism.

By being a very good goalkeeper as opposed to an average, injury-prone one.

Robinson or McGregor.

I'd be happy with Given or Foster.

Joe Lewis.

Good shout, much better option than many on here, would the fans be willing to let the odd error go given he's so young though?

No because hell be 24 in October but all goalies make mistakes even Oliver Kahn.
