He came in for some real criticism from all of us last season, some of it quite unjustified. He was doing his best under trying circumstances. Please let's not gloss over this - he is like Houllier, an abject failure at Villa. Never forget that a Top 6 team was turned into Relegation Fodder for 90% of the season by these pair of clueless clowns.

I will never forget his bullshit 'explanation' for the Cit-eh selection 'we wanted to use pace against them'.

I wish him no ill but won't be following his 'career' with any close inspection

A lot of revisionism going on here.  McAllister was a waste of space.  The fact that we won the last two games of the season is, in my mind, no different to a stopped clock showing the right twice a day.

I don't know whether he was good or not if I'm honest. How could I? He got blamed for a lot in terms of spirit in the squad, but perhaps he was just trying to be Gerard's 'enforcer' when a number of our senior pros were acting like dickheads, it's quite plausible.

Either way he said some nice things about us so I like him now. Good luck Gary.
