One thing I can't fathom is how the board can possibly think this will bring 'continuity'. Even before a ball is kicked in anger, the atmos at VP - which is often fragile anyway - will be far worse than at the lowest ebb of the DOL period. The stadium will basically have the same sort of feeling as when the manager has just got a dreaded vote of confidence and is two games from the sack. We know from experience what will happen: the players can't help but be affected by it, the defence will be a bag of nerves and if, god forbid, we have Foster between the sticks, he'll be flapping like a budgie on crystal meth. Cue another relegation fight, and this one will be a much closer thing.

Verdict? Gingerscotti won't make it past New Year. How's that for continuity.

yep. its going to be a car-crash unless Mcliesh turns into Guardiola. Whatever you think of his football or whether you think he can do the job he won't get an ounce of leeway from the fans which means he can't really make any mistakes.. I only hope that when it goes tits up Lerner doesn't dig his heels in, otherwise he could find himself on the end of some unpleasant chants as well.

Goodness me greg, you usually wait at least until a month before turning on a manager -im surprised at you .

thats it though, i'm not turning on him but plenty of others will. My dislike of him is based on his record and style of play, nowt else. But i'm not stupid enough, not to realise that plenty will hate him before he even gets in the dugout. If he'd just won the league or even finished in the top half he may have just got away with the blose connection, but as it is even the blose fans are pleased about him going to us. Even you must see that he's got not a hope in hell of getting a far chance.

randy is meeting Mcshit at a secret location .     That would be an asylum .

It's at a tattoo removal place in London. The badge is coming off....and SOTV is replacing it. :-)

Several ex-villa players commented that the atmosphere in the dressing room under AM was one of the best they have every experienced (and they left during MON's tenure)
And how does McLeish's English record compare to O'Neill's ?
I don't care if he cuddles them and tells jokes, I want a Manager who can provide a good team.
What evidence is there to suggest Fucking Eck can?

And for his next trick, Mr Lerner will set fire to a basket of puppies and punch Sid Cowans in the face...

Laughing aloud at desk, not a good look!

Went to sleep last night believing not renewing was unthinkable. Woke up and decided not to renew

What I am struggling to comprehend is that we are now obviously going to be embrioled in a court case and slanging match with the Bluenoses about this, and end up having to pay them £5mill of whatever.

Surely with the playing staff that we need, that money would be better off spent on the footballers, not on an average manager.

We sell our best player Ashley Young for £16mill, then spend a third of that on a second rate manager.  It's the equivalent of spend £5mill on Zat Knight returning, or Liam Ridgewell.....ie.....it's a total and utter waste of money.

The thing that disappoints me is that I always believed that the board in charge of Villa knew what they were doing, did things the right way, with a touch of class.  This is dirty skullduggery of the lowest form.

Agreed, more than likely we will have a much more settled dressing room under mcleish than last years fiasco.

Bevan is an expert in employnent law - blues cannot claim compensation from us as he resigned and is sueing them for constructive dismissal, from what bevan has said blues are virtually certain to lose any case and mcleish by taking the villa job foregoes any right to recieve compensation should he win his case against blues.
