i suppose blues cant stop us getting larsson as hes a free agent, johnson, dann and foster would be hard though , theyd ask a lot more from us than other clubs.

Forget them, If he comes we won't be doing any business with them for a long time.

If McCleish is willing to step into the fire, it shows what kind of strength he possesses. I will continue my support for the club regardless.

Its called money and being thick skinned.
Its not all about money.

Aye, he could stay at Blues for money.  Somebody willing to come from there to here so to speak is doing it because they are highly ambitious and know it's a great, great opportunity for them.

It's a bit like MBNA looking for a new manager and deciding the fella that used to run Northern Rock is a good idea.

I've not posted for a long time, but the possible appointment of McCleish makes me feel compelled to do so. I failed to renew last season as I felt the MON regime had run it's course. If Ged's health had held out I'd have returned to the fold as I could see a plan and on fruition possibly a degree of success. THe possible appointment of McShit means for me I'm done.... Come back Doug; for all his faults he'd never have tried to pull this kind of hen house shit, he learnt cheap appointments drop you in the shit. This ranks with Turner and McNeill in the pantheon of w*nk appointments

I hope we see a new appointment on the board after this fiasco, whomever is appointed, it's clear we need someone like Graham Taylor helping Randy out when it comes to decisions like this.

Dark, dark days at Villa Park.

Purely on a football level: of the free and available managers, Hughes patently has the better track record.

You would be very disappointed if the Board was choosing to be selectively holier than thou with regard to Hughes, due to Faulkner’s friendship with Alistair Mackintosh, to the extent that they were prepared to defy the huge majority of Villa fans.

I have always supported Randy and the way we did thing's but this is nothing short of a kick in the balls for us fan's.The simplified concept that we don't want him because he is ex blues is quite honestly condesending in the extreme. If he had won the cup with them ,if they had finished above us consitantly I would have no problem stealing him from them..the fact his the cup victory seems to be clouding their judgement.

I guess if he is appointed then I will back him but I give him 6 months untill his position is seriously under fire and then what for Randy.2 failed managerial appointments and again Sponsership issues who the hell is advising him.I think he wants us to be a big club but if he neither has the cash or the skill to move us forward then he should go I don't doubt for a second he could get a buyer.

Well it kinda makes you think really, perhaps just perhaps Villa fans are now getting a snifter of maybe the kind of thing MON had to contend with which inturn would explain why he phuked of so suddenly, if this goes wrong it won't just go a bit wrong it will be a disaster, i could even see the Championship being a real possibility after this season, and what chance is there of McLiesh keeping hold of the likes of Young, Bent, Downing and most of all can you see Gabby Agbonlahor playing his heart out for an ex nose the way he feels about them......................Don't bear thinking about.

THIS!! What makes me laugh the most is the fact that the board have in essense stuck two fingers up to the fans and to the media. Firstly, they are using this to suggest to the media that 'YOU WERE WRONG'. We didn't listen to the fans regarding the McClaren embargo. This appointment would just prove that fact. And it also says to the fans; we know best. We may not be avid football fans, but when it comes to business we know what is best for Aston Villa FC. DO YOU HECK! ABSOLUTE CRAP!!

I can only hope that Randy is doing this to prove a point over the media's reported (without any evidence to support it) claim that the club backed down on the interview of McClaren due to the so called fans outrage. This obviously blows that theory right out of the water. What ever perceived anger there might have been over McClaren ( and I don't think there would have been much) is dwarfed by the possible appointment of McLeish.

If there was a hint of any evidence that McLeish was the best candidate available to manage Aston Villa I'd cling to it, but there is seriously nothing I can see which supports us taking this route. It has nothing to do with him being at The Sty it's based on the fucking shite football that his team displayed for over 3 years.

If they are convinced this is the right path then they need to be prepared for an almighty backlash. Never, to my knowledge, has any football club ever appointed a new manager where almost everyone who supports the club is so violently opposed to it.

Randy I still have faith, don't let us down.

Shush! I want to hear whether Jerome Boateng (who?) is going to Bayern!
