So this is the signing that will ensure neither Downing nor Bent will want to leave the club. Our board really have no fucking clue about football.

RL better give him a ridiculous transfer kitty as we will need to sign Adam, Dann, Foster, N'Zogbia, Figueroa, a RB and another striker just to stand still this season.

Really looking forward to 4-5-1 next season with Heskey as the lone front man once Bent and Gabby have left.  :-[

What a load of shit!! Can't believe some are warming to him. His negative football, poor tactics, poor decision making, poor substitutes and lack of leadership sent those bastards down. Let's welcome that pathetic manager with open arms. That statement is utter toss.

He's record is mint from a Villa fans point of view. Taking SHA down twice in four years? Can't argue with that.

Why we'd want that sort of record as our boss mind, I have no fucking idea.

The interviews with the blues fans were insightful, of 4 interviewed 3 think he will take us down and the other said he played dire football......  oh we are soo lucky :(

Did you see the f-uckin state of them though, especialy the last one.

Prime candidates for the Jeremy Kyle show I thought.

I have been trying to remain positive through this, Surely when letting Ged go we had a plan ?
The Martinez thing I dismissed.
Not interviewing the Wally was positive.
Hughes not talking, biding his time, us saying could take two weeks fitted in with his restraint.

If we now plan to talk to this Knob my theory on Hughes goes out the window. Why would we talk to him if we had a plan. unless of course he was the plan all along in which case we lose any claim to moral high ground that we have cultivated.
None of us would stop supporting the Villa if he is appointed, but heavy hearts and disbelief all around the embarresment of spouting ambition and honour and then this !

Please No
we do not deserve this shit, what is the boards ambition and five year plan with this exponent of dirge football.
All the goodwill and support Randy has garnered will be gone.
and General, please, I accept you care, but my family and I have a longer tradition of heartache than you in following the Villa. So no platitudes about you knowing best.
Rant over but not the incredulous thought that we are even considering him.

If they back him in the transfer market it might work out, he is a very negative manager in football terms on his form with Scotland and Small Heath, not sure how he played when he was at Rangers with more at his disposal in comparison to his opponents.

This isn't a positive appointment but the board have to be allowed to appoint whom they best see fit.
Then they must be phuckin blind!
He clearly is not fit to run an ambitious football club - his record is shite!

Aston Villa are on the verge of proving they are not an ambitious club sadly.

If he is appointed, as seems likely, then he will be our manager and I will support him and my team completely.

I will give him time to prove himself at the most wonderful club in the land before making any judgement.
I really wish I had your faith in the man berneboy! My faith in the team stays solid!

What are we supposed to do? Boo him? If he gets the job there's no point in getting on his back, we have to let nature take its course, I'm not at all happy about it but I'm not going to stop supporting Villa over it.

He might not get through the interview, he will have to convince the board he is the right person for the job. They will ask how he will change our opinion, what his goals are etc.. If he is that bad he won't get the job. We also aren't 100% sure who else we are looking at and have spoken to. AM won't be the only candidate being considered.

To many people rely on Tlksport, Sky Sports news and bad journalism for information. We have forced the club to make a statement before they are ready to and all they said is we will speak to AM.

I would prefer somebody else, but am willing to wait and see what the board decide before I critacise them.
