I think maybe we should stop hanging our hopes on something Mysteryman has said.

I don't think he knows anymore than anyone else on here.

Hughes resignation from Fulham was much more logical than Big Ecks, he had an opportunity to release himself from a contract and he did it. I don't buy into the idea of him becoming head coach to Hiddink at Chelsea either, that wouldn't last 5 minutes. He's either holding out for the Chelsea job if Hiddink doesn't get it, or he's holding out for the Villa job. I happen to think that Mcleish won't be joining Villa, as mentioned by others it bears no logic at all

The supposed FB post by the General is a fake. It comes from a 'Chuck Krulak' account which has a picture of the General in a viking helmet giving the 5-1 salute. The real General Krulak FB page has the General in full military uniform and is set to strictly private.

Absurd.  There really are some sad, sad bastards out there.

All this crap the media are spouting out is really making me question their integrity and sources - its just 100% pure nonsense.

Due to this, I'm also beginning to think that perhaps Ryan Giggs is innocent!
It's not the nonsense being spewed on TalkSport every second, it's the really disturbing FACTS that Randy is in Corsica (as is McLeish), Pannu's rant about the E-Mail AND General K's really strange outburst on Facebook.

Right now it's all pointing towards McLeish. I hope i'm wrong but i'm fearing the worst.

I've heard the Corsica rumours regarding Randy, and know for certain McLeish is there as Pannu confirmed.  But do we really know that Randy is there?  I mean, we were trying to track his jet all over Europe on here the other day... it cant be tracked as far as im aware?

Got any pictures of Randy and McLeish in speedo's on a beach?  (For proof rather than pleasure)   ;)

Richard bevan head of lma said he's spoken to mcleish several times in the last 48 hrs and he can take another job - any court case for compensation would take a year to start and nothing stopping him taking a new job.

If McLeish is the best we can do my preference would be to have kept Gerard. His reign was not without (some) promise. The doctors gave him the all clear and he wanted to come back.

Me too.

In fact, I am pretty sure there can be no logical reason to pay off Houllier, and pay more compensation to another club, just to employ McLeish.

I am also of this thought.

Christ there is so much crap being suggested everywhere and so many people latching onto it.

the only reason the press are making such a fuss is because there's nothing else happening in the football worlds right now.

Anyone stupid enough to protest tomorrow will make themselves look a joke and the club a laughing stock- what a ridiculous thing, surely nobody over 14 will turn up other than wikivilla?

Agreed give him a chance now. I agree with all sentiments and in complete shock at his 'appointment' but protesting before he's even had time is just crazy.

Just saw on Midlands Today that some people are going to protest against appointing McLeish. How small time does that make us look? The board know we don't want him - every message board is overwhelmingly against him and apparently there's a 10000 strong petition on Facebook. A protest will make us even more of a laughing stock than we currently are.
