FWIW The General's supposed Facebook rant is now in print on the back page of the Express & Star.

I doubt it was really him, though.

After the pig in mud episode and other media skirmishes over O'Neill's departure, I can't beleive the General would be daft enough to put his thoughts out on FB, especially since the comments are fairly disrespectful to our neighbours owners.
It was a private message that was copied and pasted onto FB the General didn't put it there directly

Also, how do you know this? Has the General confirmed that these are actually his words?

If it is his account, it shows that this stuff about "we never talk to the press" is a bit silly if we're letting stuff like that find its way into the media.

Any idea who it was addressed to (apart from his first name is Richard obviously) or which site it was sent via? It wasn't someone on H&V, surely?
Vital Villa,I believe

Moyes said that quote on the 21st May!  we are in June and the situation at Villa has changed.

So BBC are saying we are negiotating with blues over mcleish release- that ties in with what pannu is saying that things are being done properly now- maybe in the next few hours this saga will finally be over, I guess big eck will bring his backroom staff with him ?

Pat Murphy is making everything from the Villa side up, he really hasn't got any more clue than we have.

No one else has heard it, you have no source, but it's 'deffo' true?

Riiiggghhhtttt.
Didn't you just see what I quoted Redknapp word-for-word?

Here is what he said: "I would be interested in the manager's job at such a triffic club like Aston Villa, I wouldn't rule it out"

What more do you want?

Stop being so silly. Moyes actually said what paulie quoted, in front of witnesses who are paid to record such things. You just made up a load of shit.
Have I?

Of course, nothing could have changed from the 21ST MAY until now.

21ST MAY

21ST MAY

21ST MAY

How do you know we still won't go in for Hughes?

In a rare moment of sense from me - here's a timely reminder from king of the spin doctors Alastair Campbell that most 'sources close to' comments and quotes in newspapers are made up. I believe (hope) that there is a proper plan that Randy and the boys have in place and that they're happy to let the media go mad chasing their tails on this...

http://www.alastaircampbell.org/blog/2011/06/13/prescotts-spat-with-sunday-times-underlines-extent-of-made-up-anonymous-quotes-in-papers/

Anyway, I'm off for a browner now...

If this happens, I will be very disappointed in villa and the board but reluctantly, I will back AM and his staff to do well.  Can't be negative from the start otherwise it will transfer onto the pitch.

If those words are not from Krulak and someone is now publishing them and attributing them to him I expect legal; action to be forthcoming

I think we should all let go of the Moyes talk. Clinging to false hope guys. Does Moyes have to keep denying he's interested in the Villa job everytime he's linked? He is on holiday dont forget as are most, if not all managers. Maybe thats another factor to throw in to why we are taking so long to appoint someone.

I also will not buy into the McLeish talk. If we wont go for Hughes for walking out on the club and we didnt go for MacLaren due to a fans backlash, we WONT go for McLeish as he is both unfaithful to his club AND unpopular with fans.

Get Hughesy in now and lets look forward to the pre season transfers!

I don't think any of us have 100% ruled out Hughes but I dont think the Moyes thing is dead and buried just yet.  Yes, I along with others, could be very wrong about the moyes link but hey, we cant stop believing!

A senior source at everton said yesterday to the media that moyes is not leaving everton- do they need to say it every day  ?

Again, its a "source".  What is this sources name?  no one every knows.  Look, the likelihood is that David Moyes will not come but until something official comes out like reported on the 21st May, then people will carrying on talking.  Once he has officially said no, the talk of him coming to us with stop instantly.  then again, who are we to say talk to the press, i mean, villa aren't really doing that now are they!?
