Bevan was on sky a couple of hours back- says he's spoke several times to mcleish in last 48 hrs and as he's suing for constructive dismissal he's free to take another job now.

Can I just point out that there are far too many people round here putting their faith in The Fear. He really doesn't know a lot.
Who is The Fear? I'm unaware.

The Fear is a force of nature, some say Malignant, some benign. It's first mentioned in the 1st book of Woodhall's fantasy trilogy, After the Villa: A New Hope. In it he details his struggle with the Fear in middle earth and this theme is continued in the subsequent books, leading to the shocking relaisation that the Fear may be his father, or vice-versa, or just vaguely related through marriage - its never that clear.. In popular culture, boyband The Doves touched on the subject in their 2002 hit "There goes the fear"

Sorry, did you call Doves a boyband?

why bother telling them you're within your rights to speak to him if you have no intention of doing so?

Come on now.

As a point of principle.

I wish people would stop looking for a conspiracy or make excuses or look to deny things because it does not suit or fit with their opinion that we are a club on the up

Thats my take on it, all we did was respond to the assertion that we could not talk to him, not that we wanted to.
Why do i get the feeling this is going to go on til the first of July.

why even ask to speak to him.. beggars belief

Is that what we've done?

Or have we just told them that if we decide we want to speak to him we're free to do so?

I have reread and read into it and genuinely hope it's right . Certain ex Villa players at SHA are also pretty convinced about McCleish making the move to us . Could all just be a big wind up I am hoping it is

I wish people would stop acting like bloody fools. How many managers have we been on the point of appointing according to the media? When are you going to accept that they know fuck all.

Blues emailed us several times hounding us about tapping up, compensation, blah blah blah.. we responded saying he's a free agent, we'll do what we want. Basically "piss off". We haven't asked any permission. The only interesting bits so far is the Corsica business.

As Mazrim said, i'd be more likely to send something along the lines of "wtf!? Are you serious? This is Aston Villa, the day we start poaching managers off you, our Chairman will be carried out in a straightjacket. I suggest you send this mail to clubs who would be possibly interested in your ex-manager. I suggest Walsall and Kidderminster for starters"

Yours sincerely etc., etc..

So was the 'meltdown' you were referring to last week is McLeish potentially being our new manager?

Be honest, did you know about McLeish resigning prior to him actually resigning?
