Randy was in Corcisca and so was McLeish. I've got a really bad feeling about this.

Who said McLeish was in Corsica?
Sky Sports News just said it because McLeish resigned by E-Mail.

Wouldn't be surprised if Randy will bring home in his private jet.

This is very scary.

What I can't understand is if they knew they were going to dispense with Houllier's services despite being given a clean bill of health, why they didn't try and sort somebody out on the sly back then.  I'd have Houllier as manager instead of McLeish every day of the week.

Exactly Risso.

you old cynic clampy!

gervilla, what was the football quality like under him at rangers?

I wouldn't know as I really couldn't watch Scottish football. Unlike a lot of my compatriots I couldn't give a shit about the whole Celtic / Rangers bullshit.

Eastie, were you asking me this because i'm Irish and you presumed I'd have some interest in watching Scottish football ? Just wondering like .

This would be one of the worst appointments in our history.

If ever a Board needed some football man to help them out, it may be this one, if McLeish is their man. Astonishing and scary.

Totally agreed.  If i'm surprised about anything it's that the appointment is dragging on when the owners had so much notice, whether that had been GED's illness for the fact that the season by and large went badly.

I'm not particularly disappointed by it though, it's about getting the right man afterall, just surprised.

If ever there was a time we all need to rally round the cause together, this is it.

I'm expecting to read very similar posts as this in the coming months.

I couldn't care less where he came from if he was the right man, but he clearly isn't.

well considering the speed they reeled out a hughes denial when he resigned, the silence is deafening.

I think its true, and i really don't want it to be.

I recall the media reporting a Hughes denial, not being funny but can you provide a link to an official statement to that effect?

Seriously, I'm not trying to be smart, I just don't remember one.

quite all right. I thought we did say something but if we did it was off the record or from fulham. There's plenty of Villa deny hughes interest stories but no quotes i can see

I'm not really sure what's crawled up Moxley's arse here? Is it because Villa aren't telling him anything?

Embarrassing is the only way to describe it. He sounds like a spoilt child who can't get his own way. It's a shame quite a few of our own are already doing their best to encourage this tripe. If ever there was a time we all need to rally round the cause together, this is it.

You said it Jockey! Let's not all get buried under the shit the press are putting out. It's not even speculation! It's just made up crap because RL is giving them nothing (unlike Whelan who couldn't stop himself from blabbing!). I'm gonna try to make this the last time I say this guys, but: let's have faith in RL to do the best thing for the club he's heavily invested in. He wants success as much as we do. If it all goes tits up, that's the time to get arsey about him!
We are Aston Villa!
On the one hand I can see that

-McLeish is on holiday
-Randy flies to Corisica on his private jet
-A couple of days later McLeish resigns by E-Mail

It can only mean one thing. This is no fucking coincidence, Randy obviously knew McLeish was going on the verge of walking out on small heath and set something up by flying to where McLeish is on holiday.

Don't mind me, i'm just about to jump off the top of the Holte End.

I'm holding on to any bits of gossip like this like you wouldn't believe.  I'm beginning to lose hope though.
