I will be using our way of appointing a manager as a case study when I next teach recruitment and selection to my students though.  And what a case study it will be.

Get a list and keep asking until someone says yes.

McLeish is a gentleman. And that's it.
There are no football reasons at all, I can think of,  for hiring him.
He is to be congratulated for winning a trophy too but in unconvincing fashion (so that you could imagine him repeating it) and being relegated twice when counter balances that in any case with a big weighty shit.
I dont really care about the Blose element but many will. We just dont need it.

I find it hard to believe that Randy would consider this, never mind favourably against other targets.
I would rather GMac and KMac take charge for a year until we can get somebody else.
Please Randy, please don't have gone mental. I still have faith.

well considering the speed they reeled out a hughes denial when he resigned, the silence is deafening.

I think its true, and i really don't want it to be.

yes we did issue a statement on hughes.
Did they? I know Hughes said he hadnt had any contact from another team etc but did we actually comment? I may of missed it, but I don't think we did.

daily telegraph saying villa turned to mcleish after moyes and coyle both indicated they had no interest in the job.
They know fuck all eastie and they know we know they know fuck all which is why they keep making shit up!
Keep the faith!

What I can't understand is if they knew they were going to dispense with Houllier's services despite being given a clean bill of health, why they didn't try and sort somebody out on the sly back then.  I'd have Houllier as manager instead of McLeish every day of the week.

I think the only trouble (and it's a major one) with the way we recruit is the total Media blackout - with SSN, Talkshite etc it leaves a vacum that they fill with utter bollocks and general speculation passed off as fact.

You know it bollocks, I know it's bollocks but the perception is that we are all at sea.  Which as the majority of football supporters (Brummie Reds, Noses etc) get their information from these sources it a free kick for them.

I'm desperate for RL to shut these feckers up.

I'm not really sure what's crawled up Moxley's arse here? Is it because Villa aren't telling him anything?

Embarrassing is the only way to describe it. He sounds like a spoilt child who can't get his own way. It's a shame quite a few of our own are already doing their best to encourage this tripe. If ever there was a time we all need to rally round the cause together, this is it.

Randy was in Corcisca and so was McLeish. I've got a really bad feeling about this.

It can't be Mcleish, it would be an absolutely appalling appointment.

if we did appoint the Ginger one, then you can forget bright future,
VP half empty, any player with ambition will be off, back to the Graham Turner days.

I recall the media reporting a Hughes denial, not being funny but can you provide a link to an official statement to that effect?

Seriously, I'm not trying to be smart, I just don't remember one.
