I think you'll be very surprised then. This is a board who thinks we're still living in the 19th century where you have to hand-deliver letters of intent before approaching a club's manager. I really can't see them back-tracking after denying any interest in the man. Falkner would be handed a revolver and told to do the honourable thing.

Just looked at the latest odds and a few caught my eye.
Alan McInally 250/1
Ray Graydon   66/1
Kevin Keegan  25/1
Ian Holloway   20/1
Simon Grayson 8/1
Alex McLeish     3/1 favourite
The bookies list is starting to look like the other thread which started by listing everyone whos managed in the PL, but with league managers, European managers and ex-players thrown in too.

Houllier was 66/1 a week before we appointed him.

McLeish? I would be amazed if we went for a manager that took the shit down twice.

I think I would just cry.  This really can't happen.  Can it?

It's going to be Moyes, stop panicking for gods sake.

Not a chance unfortunately.  Even the  supposed ITK's on twitter have changed their tune now.  That talksport producer VillaMatt is not so sure it'll be Moyes and yesterday he seemed to think it might be.

I just want to point out that when I listed the ones who had caught my eye in the betting, that wasn't in any way shape or form my personal choice of shortlist. But everyone probably guessed that anyway with someone who's never managed, two others who have never managed in the top flight, someone who's taken Blues down twice in three PL seasons and Ian Holloway on the list!

is that a cryptic hint thst slaven bilic will be the new villa manager mysteryman?

No it's MM who's pretending that he knows what he's talking about and he really has'nt got that much of a clue and it's getting a bit dull now to be honest.

Sorry about the long link but this from the mail suggests it will not be Moyes or Hughes  (Or McClaren or Rafa or Ancelotti........)

http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2011/06/11/randy-lerner-confident-of-finding-right-man-for-aston-villa-despite-martinez-snub-97319-28859674/?

It's gonna be underwhelming whoever it is.
