I might lock myself up my basement provided with a life time supply of vodka and weed if we appoint McLeish as manager.

I am thinking its going to be Rijkaard..Which would be an excellent appointment. 8)

Even those that dont quite like the idea, would still be interested and be more optimistic than having McClaren or Martinez.

I would be looking more forward to a summer with Rijkaard pulling the strings than most other managers..

Just got back from the local shops. On the way there I saw an old dear struggling with some bags. I asked her if she could manage. She told me that she doesn't want the Villa job, either.

Some of the things I read on here beggar belief. People need to realize that it takes more than a batting of the eyelashes to attract a manager. Interestingly, it takes two to tango, so what if certain individuals are identified but do not wish to come. Is that a lack of ambition on Villa's part? Let's say, hypothetically (seriously), a Low or an Ancelotti or a van Gaal is approached and he says, "No thanks." Does that mean that Randy is not ambitious or does it mean that a manager has his own agenda or reasons for not accepting the offer? What if a prospect wants to hold the club to ransom and this does not sit well with the owner? Does this make the owner one who lacks ambition or a prudent steward of the club? What if a prospect (or more than one, even!) has decided that he feels an obligation to be loyal to his current club and thus decides to stay where he is? Does this mean that Randy is a hack?

Clearly, it does to someone like Risso who has it all figured out.

Where have I said ANY of what you accuse me of in your first paragraph?  I've had a look through my posts to see what I've said that could have set off such a scathing attack, and am honestly at a loss.

To be fair 90% of your posts over the last few years have been slagging off the board / the manager / the players :)

Moyes would be ideal with no foul dust in his trail.
Rikjaard has strong credentials.
Hughes is a mess no and full of complications.
Benitez is also out of work.

Come on Randy please say you've had a leading contender and always were courting him and all the rest are cannon fodder and no-hopers trumped up by the gutter press.
If we take a lesser figure we will be a laughing stock.

Randy is in control. If we have a summer clear out there will be funds to replace those going. I just hope we get someone like Moyes who can re-stock with quality players who respect him without going bankrupt.
at the moment I see shades of the 60's when ex-Pub Landlords were offered the job because they were mates of the guvnors. We cannot allow ourselves to return to those shoddy days.
Come out and announce Moyes has the job and lets get back to striving for self-respect and top contender status again!!

Isn't David Cameron a Villa fan?  Maybe he could come in as DOF with Price William and Tom Hanks as manager and 1st team coach.   Actually that'd never work, there's no way Cameron would share power with someone else.  Oh well.......
