A synopsis of the last 30 pages or so please since this morning? I've been out all day at cricket festival and seem to have missed out on all the fun.

Martinez not interested and a must read over the last five or six pages or so..

I hope the moderators rules regarding banning are going to be applied consistently here by the way?
Of course they won't.

What risso is saying is disgusting, certainly not how a mod should act. He's abusing his position.
Is he bollocks.
Being a moderator doesn't stop you from having an opinion on all things Villa.

One rule for mods and another for the members I think.
Is it hell.
I've seen non-moderators get away with far worse, I didn't see any insults either, nothing abusive.
This site is (rightly) very tolerant and fair when people lose their cool, I don't see why it should be any different for moderators.

i got told off for calling the situation a pleb 2 nights ago lol

but seriously risso did nothing out of order that i see anyway, everyones pissy at the mo so its easy to over hype the little things

Ahh so Pelty is a director's son.  I thought the boss had just walked in as everyone - well almost everyone - started being really polite.

marginally off topic, but I was just chatting to a spurs fan who watches ALOT of Sky Sports News and follows football generally (i.e. not that one eyed) and I asked what the outside view of Villa was.

He was pretty much unaware that we are in crisis as the hysteria on here would suggest.  You've got to remember that the rest of the world could not give a shit where Randy's plane was.  I'd imagine if you went on a Chelsea board they are also going ape-shit because Hiddink hasn't signed, Hughes linked etc etc.

Keep it going you two - at least people are laying off me  ;D

Anyway - on topi, after today, anyone surfed the web to see if MM has posted anything.

By way they, has anyone noticed since the posts at around 10pm last night about Randy being in Corsica, that bloke standing looking like a wally without a brolly in the North Stand car park is now saying "My sources are telling my Randy is not in the country and may be at his holiday home in Corsica"

As Fozzy Bear said "funnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

(oh and for those who have a go at me for putting paragraphs - the above will show why. I typed "By the way" - my comp put "by way they" - god knows why, it only does it on forums sites so I aint coughing up £400 for a new comp to use on H&V - but it is much easier to type something, press enter and check it is OK. - hope this explains)

Fair play to both, but I really hope it stays on here.

Pelty - I take it from your first post Rafa wanted fortunes then. Is the prem experience still a must?

I like a bit of tension and passion from fans on a forum. No need for anyone to be banned or told off.. 8)

So insulting someone is having an opinion? Why let someone who can't control what he types be a mod when if it was someone else saying it they'd ban them right away?

One rule for mods and another for the members I think.

All I've done is defend myself against an unprovoked attack from a director's son, who apparently has taken umbrage at something I've written.  Quite what I've said to upset him I'm not exactly clear on.

So now you're playing the innocent when a few minutes ago you were goading him about his religion?

And while we're at it, haven't people been advising caution in case any of this gets into the press? That's at least twice now that you've directly revealed his identity to any journo's that might be trawling the site.

Are you some sort of Bluenose Sleeper Agent that's just been 'activated'?

Apparently not. If you'd bothered to read the whole thing, you'd have seen that.

It seems that Whelan's intervention in all this has caused the most grief.

I'd find it hard to believe that he was the only Chairman/ owner contacted. Yet he was the only one to go public and spot an opportunity. Most owners when given a choice would prefer to keep that kind of interest as quiet as possible, for fear of causing unrest.

He's had nine days to mention the contact he initially received, yet he only chooses to go public a few hours before Martinez signs a new deal. Martinez probably knew he was only one of a number of candidates - if he has anything about him- and was glad to take the certainty of the improved terms on his new deal.

Had Whelan kept in in house, this wouldn't be an issue. Martinez would have been seen to simply sign a new deal, we'd have been continuing with our search and that would be that.  I think the board want to play this similar to the Bent deal -absolutely no info until it's just about nailed on.  Obviously if Sunderland had leaked our interest a few days/ weeks in advance that wouldn't have been possible then either.

The hope is that the guy who the board actually want -if he's currently at another club- might have a boss who is a bit more reserved than Whelan.

Just put us all out of our misery, stop the charade and unveil Hughes ASAP. I am sure Fulham won't want any compensation now they have Jol.

This smokescreen is a pea souper now. Enough is enough.

Just an update on the 'fake' mysteryman as someone called him on twitter. It seems that it will be Moyes within 24 hours. Believe what you will.
