Really? Do you honestly think he has turned us down because we are too big for him? Can't see it myself. Life's about opinions I guess.

I hope the moderators rules regarding banning are going to be applied consistently here by the way?
Of course they won't.

What risso is saying is disgusting, certainly not how a mod should act. He's abusing his position.
Is he bollocks.
Being a moderator doesn't stop you from having an opinion on all things Villa.
So insulting someone is having an opinion? Why let someone who can't control what he types be a mod when if it was someone else saying it they'd ban them right away?

One rule for mods and another for the members I think.

Hey, let's all cool it folks as someone said earlier! Time for the weekend and boy do we all need it I think. I am getting very uptight about all this and must confess to a mild headache and stiff neck. I am away on business next week and am not sure how I am going to cope with not being able to surf H and V every 3 minutes or less. Meantime, you can remind yourself of the true mess English football is in by watching the mediocrity that is the England Under 21 team being outclassed....

To be honest, Martinez has acted honourably - he agreed that he would sign a new contract - we have also acted in an incredibly above board and honourable way (as Dave Whelan conveniently told the press). I still hope we go for Rijkaard.

Hold onto your seats!!!!

Risso does unfortunately have a history of throwing his toys out of the pram though - but it's his opinion and he's entitled to it, moderator or not.

Forget the Villa 3 year cycle. This forum seems to have a 5 year cycle or so where certain people get a bit over-excited, say some very silly things, and then quite rightly disappear. Ryu, Robathan..is Risso next.

Everyone should just calm down and trust Randy Lerner. The time to shout is if the appointment is made and we're not happy. And the time for personal insults to other users here is the time to consider posting on another site, where that sort of thing is lauded

All I've done is defend myself against an unprovoked attack from a director's son, who apparently has taken umbrage at something I've written.  Quite what I've said to upset him I'm not exactly clear on.

Is it hell.
I've seen non-moderators get away with far worse, I didn't see any insults either, nothing abusive.
This site is (rightly) very tolerant and fair when people lose their cool, I don't see why it should be any different for moderators.

A synopsis of the last 30 pages or so please since this morning? I've been out all day at cricket festival and seem to have missed out on all the fun.

laughing out loud

Similarly amused.

Thanks Pelty for your sensible contributions. I think the board are going about it the right (i.e. their usual quiet) way and a lot of the press speculation is simply a product of nothing leaking from Villa Park. If the media and a few drama queens here want to work themselves into a frenzy as it's been a whole week or so since GH left so be it. I don't really care as long as in the end we appoint a decent manager.
