Going back to my ST debate that people find humourous - I'd grumble, but I'd get one if it was Mac and Sid - even if it is just for the fact "I want my own to do well"

People don't find it humourous, they find it boring, the record is well and truly stuck. I could'nt give a fuck if you get one or not, do what you like.

Whelan's a self-promoting media whore with a hotline to Sky like them lot at West Ham.  Must be a small club thing.

i actually quite like him,
seems a straight honest enough guy, and is one of the few chairman if any who actually played the game profesionaly

i think he's done an excellent job there.

Very good pies, and you have no problem getting a beer.

Incidentaly, thetrees on VT has confirmed that Lerner's jet is in Madrid today.

Bloody hell, we need a manager and Randy pisses off to see monster trucks. What is going on?

On a positive note, maybe the Madrid thing suggests Quique Sanchez Flores who has just left Atletico.

There is some merit in this idea, primarily because most fans (myself included) will not have a clue how good or bad he is.  Therefore they'll probably give him a go rather than having too many preconceived ideas.

He's not three bad;

Manager
Benfica:
Taça da Liga: 2008–09
Atlético Madrid:
UEFA Europa League: 2009–10
UEFA Super Cup: 2010
Copa del Rey: Runner-up 2009–10

Add to that some pretty good league positions...

I think we should give us Gary McAllister the job to stop us looking. As no one want the job :(

I'm hoping for Mr. T. He'll sort it all out.

Maybe in Dave Whelan's interview maybe he suggests that Martinez isn't our number one when he says he believes Roberto will still be at Wigan Athletic next season?

If he was our number one, then surely we would have wrapped it up by now as the move is a no brainer?

I just dont get it, I just dont get it at all.

IF its all true, we appoint Martinez because he is young, will nurture young talent at our club and bring on the fruits of our youth side instead of spending a fortune on overpaid average players, and is hungry for success - have I got this right ?

Can I ask one question then

WHY THE F......G HELL DIDN'T WE APPOINT, OR APPOINT NOW, MCDONALD AND COWANS !!!!!!

It's no more a risk, they have acheived in their own way, just as much as Martinez, and at least they know what we need.

This is why appointments like McLaren and Martinez make no sense.

Seriously Villa, if you are reading this - go and get a top quality manager - and if not, give it to people who care about the club !

Going back to my ST debate that people find humourous - I'd grumble, but I'd get one if it was Mac and Sid - even if it is just for the fact "I want my own to do well"

Do you not remember Kevin Mac's caretaker reign?

Martinez is a good mananger.  He's did well with Swansea and has kept Wigan up on a shoe-string budget!

Didn't Whelan say Martinez was back from holiday?

Quique Sanchez Flores is by far the most exotic sounding name we've been linked with and therefore I hope that it's him.

Quique Sanchez Flores! He'd be good.
