I'd quite like Martinez in charge, I think it would be a logical step from Gerard's ideas and the way he wanted us to evolve.

Be happy with Martinez. Might just need a platform to build on. If it is Martinez lets all get behind him and give him a chance.

I think he would be exciting, very risky but exciting.

You mean just like Wigan this season?

Don't like Martinez? Don't worry give it an hour and he will be pushed to the bottom of the list again.

That's what they used to say about the weather when I lived in Kansas.

Sorry. If Randy thinks Martinez is the answer then he hasn't got a clue.
Neither have you. What do you know about running a football club?

Of course people locked up in their bedrooms on football forums 7 hours a day know more than Randy.

so it was definately Hughes, then Carlo the Great, then McClaren the not so Great and today, it was Rafa the Gaffer. Now its Martinez. At all turns there have been rumours mixed with other rumours  typed / spoken with authority (we cancelled meeting with X, we decided after speaking to whoever - no, we did not have he budget for whoever).

The only fact from all of this I am aware of is that no one has made any official comment, there has been a bit of waffle, a lot of twitter (whatever that is), a fair bit of ITK that turned out to be anthing but. The only people who are gaining are bookies while the media try to guess their way to an exclusive.

Martinez is good with me. Young, ambitious and his teams play the right way - and we'd get N'Zogbia.

Meg. Never finished outside bottom 6, regularly gets thrashed out of sight, no pressure to spend big bucks. Would be a big cop out. Not sure I believe it tbh. Like the guy but would be massively underwhelming and confirm that we're settling for not being one of the big boys. Would rather have stuck with houllier.

I'll second that.

He'd be under big pressure from the off though.

No, i'm sorry but just about surviving in the league by the skin of your teeth is not enough to earn a chance to manage Aston Villa.
I would be disgusted if there is any truth in this. And more than a little confused.

Yes, his teams have played some nice stuff at times and come up with the odd good result against a big team now and then but par for the course has been a bit of a bollocking. I just fail to see how he has earned the chance to be considered considering the names that are out there and available.

I dont rate Hughes massively but he would be way more credible.
I'm getting fucking annoyed by this now. One minute I'm happy with Benitez, then I'm dreaming of something better and way more exciting and now fucking Martinez is favourite? It's getting right on my tittays.

Unless of course we appoint somebody like van Gaal as a technical director. Martinez would be too exposed on his own. This isnt poxy Wigan.

If Martinez becomes our manager I'll fully support him.  However I still don't reckon that's the way we'll go.

To be fair Kendrick has been pretty much spot on with his information, so I'd say there's definately some truth in it.
