He would only be making an approach for moyes if he felt moyes was the right man which is by no means certain- the general has said we would consider all avenues including employed managers .

I don't buy into the Randy is whiter than white. You don't get as far as he did in Law and Finance without getting your hands dirts.

Randy is a shrewd businessman.

I'm not saying he's not a shrewd businessman, but the main reason he's got where he is is because of who his father was.

I understand but you cannot buy a good degree. And he did have his own business before MBNA. Yes he got a large helping hand from his father. I am just saying I don't buy that he is this cuddly, ethical, whiter than white owner.

He will know how to get his hands dirty. Which is a good thing.

Look at the nature of the family business. Look at how Ged went. Look, if you like, at how he's got us to hand over money willingly. Randy is a shrewd businessman who can be as ruthless as anyone.

If rafa and Hughes are the 2 being interviewed I will sleep soundly as both would do an excellent job in my opinion- moyes on more than one occasion has said he's not interested and I'd far rather have a manager who's desperate to manage Aston villa.

What do you expect from a man who has a current employer and the club he was being asked about still had a manager. It may be very different if we approached him. I doubt very much he would leave Everton if he didn't really want to be here!

And how do you know that the others are "desperate" to manage us?

I'd expect moyes to say I'm happy at everton or make no comment- the words 'I'm not interested' suggest exactly what they say and anyone thinking moyes will jump ship and join us is in for a long wait.

With all this apparent secrecy over the new boss I’m half expecting him (or her!) to ride into the car park of Villa Park on the back of Shergar with Lord Lucan riding side saddle cradling Maddie McCann in his arms.
Surely someone somewhere in ATV Land must have seen the possible contenders coming out of a restaurant/bar/pub/castle/cave together with Randy

Come on chris you surely saw rafa on football focus, he would love the villa job as I'm sure would Hughes- villa are an attractive proposition with a great stadium, fanbase and chairman and a useful squad- the top clubs all have managers and rafa and Hughes would both jump at the chance to manage this club.

God no, let's not start all this 'I've seen a bloke in a long jacket and grey hair' and 'Moyes has just been spotted in a Pizza Hut in Erdington'' nonsense.
