Redman wasn't a problem on VT, he said his stuff and was worthy of debate. IMO he's welcome.

I too want Benitez for the record. I think our club at this time should snap his hand off. He has top 4 prem experience, CL experience, a mixed record in the transfer market (But look at some of SAF and Wengers signings!). But the guy has pedigree that none of the others have, including Moyes. I don't understand this Moyes love in.........I see him as an equal to Woy Hodgson!

Get Rafa in on 2 year contract tomorrow............on yeah I cop £200 if he comes  ;)

Anyone know why the odds have tumbled in every bookies on Owen Coyle

He is either the 2nd or 3rd favourite on every site I have been on - yet I have not heard him mentioned once on any radio , TV or seen his name in any paper once.

In fact, even on this thread - I can only remember seeing his name on one post, and that was mine the day GH left where I put a tier of who I would like (ancelotti was 1 , Moyes or Jol was tier 2 , I think I put Rafa and Frank tier 3 , and then I put Hughes (or any equivelant like Coyle) on tier 4 saying tier 4, would not be happy, but I'd see how it went as I could see the clubs reckoning.

Apart from that - I haven't seen him mentioned - and yet - 3/1 second favourite at a lot of places

I wouldn't pay any attention to the bookies, they know absolutely nowt.  Last year we had Bob Bradley, Curbishley and Sven odds on favourites at one point or another.  As for Bolton, my boss is mates with the bloke who owns Wanderers, and there's been no talk of Coyle leaving at all from the Bolton side.

Personally, I am still holding out hope for Ancelotti. That interview can be taken a number of ways - he did not say "I do not want to be considered for any jobs for a year - I will have a years rest" - it said "I have had no offers from any clubs, and I am in no hurry , if I do not get something that interests me, I will be happy to herhave a years rest, I havent had one in ages"

They are different things.

However, I've gotta say, if we were not successful in Ancelotti and was in Benitez - I'd be chuffed to bits.

For me, it would be like asking Cheryl Cole to sleep with me, only for her to turn me down, then Katy Perry coming up and saying "I will though - and I'll let you do anal !"

I think I'd take it !

The problem is, that's not what he said.

Is this the scouser love in or someat? Oh and mate i'm 42 years old have 2 kids and have been supporting My club since 1977 when i first sat on my dads shoulders and fell in love with this football club. I came on this forum to post for the first time tonight because i felt that some scouse bloke had upset other villa fans on another site. I didn't realise this would offend anyone, if it has i'm sorry and shall not come on here again! I will continue posting on other sites with like minded people not tw*ts like you! Oh and don't call me sunshine!!

Getting kicked off VT is no disgrace, Redman why are you convinced Benitez is the right choice ?
In a nutshell, because Lerner won't bullshit him.

Rafa's got a reputation for being a political animal but as I saw it, he only ever used politics for the good of the club. I'm sure he'd rather just crack on but if the DoF buys him the wrong players (Valencia), or the boardroom erupts into civil war (Liverpool) or the Chairman doesn't back him despite no new signings/injury nightmare (Inter) he will force the issue.

But I don't see any of those things happening at Villa. He's seriously talented but never quite found the right club who'll give him the control he needs.

My main concern with Rafa is his long term commitment to our club, and the potential return to Liverpool if he were indeed successful here.

I am in no way against Rafa becoming the manager.

The odds have tumbled on Coyle purely because people have put money on him.

A market like this is a tiny one - ie the total amount of money wagered on it will be very small indeed, therefore it only takes a relatively small amount of money to shunt one manager up the list of favourites.

It's a misconception to think that at the bookies' HQs there are traders poring over this sort of market, scanning the news, adjusting prices, keeping their ear to the ground - there aren't.

In fact, the reality is entirely different. There wont be anybody poring over it or paying much attention to it 99 percent of the time, it'll be almost entirely driven by risk management software which manages the bookies' exposure on the market.

The prices you see are just showing you where people are putting their money, and there are - happily for some of us - plenty of people around who throw daft money about .
