Is this the same scouser just been kicked off Villa Talk?? I believe it probably is
I've not been kicked off, I just stuck my head around the door here and saw what seems like higher quality debate. No offence to VT or anything. ;D

I hope I'm welcome - if not, let me know.

would you take rafa back now over kenny?

and how did you feel when Rafa left? I heard different things from different red mates. Some glad he'd gone cos he seemed to be losing the plot?

Hi all,

Liverpool supporter here in peace.

I don't know if Rafa is the right man for you or not. But I hope he is. He's a brilliant tactician and they don't come along every day. Get him while you can, I say.

Have to say I would love to see him given the chance. The Barry thing should be forgotten. He tactically outwitted O'Neill time and again, and think he would be head and shoulders best man for the job. My fear is that Houllier still has a say, and does not like him!

Not now. I'm thrilled with Kenny. It's worked out better than I could have expected (so far).

But when Roy went, I was torn between Kenny (for sentimental reasons really) and Rafa.

Getting kicked off VT is no disgrace, Redman why are you convinced Benitez is the right choice ?

I certainly wouldn't be upset to see Benitez appointed.  Champions League winners don't pitch up every day.  That Barry saga is in the past, Barry was the cause of most of the problems anyhow.

Benitez is infinitely better.

They were both good appointments for Liverpool at the time though.

But Rafa put us back on the map.

All welcome here, Redman, except Bluenoses. And we're far superior to VT.
As the other candidates drop out of the running and the newspapers keep on linking us with McClaren, Rafa is becoming a more attractive possibility. Do you think he'd have stayed with you if you'd had stable leadership in the boardroom?

Anyone know why the odds have tumbled in every bookies on Owen Coyle

He is either the 2nd or 3rd favourite on every site I have been on - yet I have not heard him mentioned once on any radio , TV or seen his name in any paper once.

In fact, even on this thread - I can only remember seeing his name on one post, and that was mine the day GH left where I put a tier of who I would like (ancelotti was 1 , Moyes or Jol was tier 2 , I think I put Rafa and Frank tier 3 , and then I put Hughes (or any equivelant like Coyle) on tier 4 saying tier 4, would not be happy, but I'd see how it went as I could see the clubs reckoning.

Apart from that - I haven't seen him mentioned - and yet - 3/1 second favourite at a lot of places

I was gutted. But I can see how the club needed a clean break. Sometimes the quickest fix is a change of management, right? Even if the manager isn't necessarily at fault.

The ownership saga took it's toll on Rafa. When results started slipping, some of the fans started turning a bit. That was disappointing. 'Cause he stuck around and fought for us when he could easily have disappeared to another big club.

I wanted him to survive and lead the club under the new, healthy regime. It's a bit unjust the way it ended.

Wouldn't know because I don't bother with such sites but he's more than welcome here.

The odds are shortening with the list of known candidates
