McClaren is a huge no-go.

And clearly he causes irritable bowl syndrome.

Can you imagine the first home game.  :-[

FWIW (which has always been f*** all), NewsNow have a rundown of the ITK rumours/bulls***:

Hughes 'will be manager after 30th June', an immediate contract would entitle Fulham to compensation. Source is a 'chairman who is friends with Gabby Agbonlahor since his under-11 days'.

Benitez 'sees Villa as a massive project and could build gradually rather than be expected to win trophies from the start'. He is 'high on the list'.

Moyes 'has been ruled out'.

Ancelotti 'hasn't said no but is looking incresingly unlikely'. There are now reports that he has returned to Italy for his holidays.

McClaren is 'not on top of Randy's list, as he knows how fans feel towards him'.

Jol may well be a target, as he's had trophies, but no ITK info.

Talksport in 'co-commentators taking entirely opposite views in order to generate heated phoney call-in debate' shock.

Shortlist (from The Mirror):

Martin Jol
Schteve McClaren
Roberto Martinez

Mark Hughes has been ruled out.

The Granuiad claim Ancelotti has said no, while 5 Live's Pat Murphy claims RL will approach employed managers, putting Moyes in the frame.

F***ing confusing, this.

Moyes has said no (he's planning a swoop for Demba Ba apparrently).

It's all conjecture atm.

The longer this goes on the more I'm warming to benitez. He's available, willing and has a track record.
