Was just thinking. I'm hoping Carlo will be our new manager but that's based on Butch Wilkins coming with him as his number two. I wonder what Wilkins position is re getting back into coaching seeing as though he has his feet nicely under the Sky Sports table. Would he take it? If he wouldn't would we still want Carlo?

Wasn't the only reason Wikins was assistant because Ancelotti was not fluent in English. If so he is much improved now and Sid will know some italian from his time there.

Is randy waiting for hughes to resign so he can approach him with clean hands?

I don't think this is Villa saying they're not interested in Hughes. It's Villa reassuring Fulham, and the wider public, that they have not made an illegal approach to their manager.

That said, if it's true that no one can speak to him until June 30th without Fulham's permission then, he won't be our manager whether Randy wants him or not, as I can't see us waiting for a month just to talk to a manager.

they can if he resigns apparently, conflicting reports he can walk away now for nothing and his staff too, rumours are he will resign today according to the london press.

Where's Malcolm with his level headed take on all things Villa related?

He will wait until a decision is made.

And then he will give his verdict.

Come on Villa just name Carlo

He'll be on the O/S later stretching the shirt....

A considerable stretching, too. He looks like he's no stranger to the biscuit barrel.
He certainly looks like he needs to put his belt on with a boomerang.

But wasn't he also regarded a really good coach and number 2? Something thats very important in the modern game.

If truth be told,  I think I should be Aston Villa manager. Not knowing what to do wouldn't be a problem, I'd just start an AV team and subs selection thread on here every Saturday morning. I'd also need to be able to bring Chris Smith on as assistant (so he could big me up during my regular absences for 'scouting' and getting back to do the the missus' ironing).

I'd like the Carlo/Wilkins double act, but Carlo is much the more important part.  He won enough before he teamed up with Butch to show prove that.

As doubtful as finding oil in Erdington.

Apparently, Sky Italia have said that Carlo will turn down AS Roma to manage Villa.  Talksport mentioned this earlier.  Lets hope its true.....

If you get the gig, can I put myself forward as your 'Habib Beye'?  I'd be very happy to not play football for a fraction of his wages.
