Mat Kendrick on Twitter says that nothing significantly has changed since this morning, ie. Ancelotti still the board's preferred choice (but there are obviously doubts that he'll come) and confusion surrounding Hughes' contract clause.

would that change though if hughes resigns? If he quits through the clause then surely villa would be free to approach them as they havent approached him while at fulham?  maybe randy is being canny making it clear he hasnt approached hughes yet.

I'd rather have MON back than Mark Hughes.

I'd rather have Merv Hughes than MON back.
I'd rather have Nerys Hughes, and I hate her.

I'd rather have Emlyn Hughes and he's dead.
I'd rather have Yosser Hughes and he's a mentalist.

I know they're surnames aren't Hughes, but I really to dispise the annoying little fucks.

So, the Mirror are saying it's Hughes and the BBC are saying it isn't?

In all honesty, and even though I'm now expecting old Sparky, you'd be more inclined to believe the BBC........

The only quote i've seen regarding Hughes on the BBC states that they haven't been in contact with him, which is slightly different to saying they are not interested in him.

For such a titght lipped club I'm surprised that even that much has been said.  It's hardly Randy's policy to drop strategically worded disinformation into the media.

He's in the Hague trying to implicate O'Neill as an accomplice to Ratko Mladic.
He'll be back soon talking bollocks.

Or that they have not been in contact with his agent.

I worry when he's not on here because there is always the chance he is bothering real people and to be honest I wouldn't fancy his chances of survival in the real world once he starts spouting his incomprehensible bollocks to them.

Is randy waiting for hughes to resign so he can approach him with clean hands?

A considerable stretching, too. He looks like he's no stranger to the biscuit barrel.

I don't think this is Villa saying they're not interested in Hughes. It's Villa reassuring Fulham, and the wider public, that they have not made an illegal approach to their manager.

That said, if it's true that no one can speak to him until June 30th without Fulham's permission then, he won't be our manager whether Randy wants him or not, as I can't see us waiting for a month just to talk to a manager.

Was just thinking. I'm hoping Carlo will be our new manager but that's based on Butch Wilkins coming with him as his number two. I wonder what Wilkins position is re getting back into coaching seeing as though he has his feet nicely under the Sky Sports table. Would he take it? If he wouldn't would we still want Carlo?
