Exactly. TBF he didn't contribute much to their demise, they'd have sank even with out him.

Don't be stupid, you can't have missed his excellent contribution to the second half of the season.
The  £35 million we got for Salifou and Osbourne was quite an unexpected bonus though....those crazy Spaniards  eh !

I'm sure it will still appear after their up coming piece on AY joining Man Ure and Downing signing for Arsenal....and Habib Beye signs new 4 year deal.

NRC is a good player to have at a club like ours. Disappointed we didn't do more to keep him.

NRC was possibly our most important player this season. He has his limitations, but with Milner gone and Petrov in decline he was vital in at least attempting to keep our midfield together.

I'd have kept him but maybe he's already decided to go elsewhere. Bottom line is he's not irreplaceable and we should be able to get similar for probably less than we paid for him.

Glad to see them all go to be honest. Never saw anything in Coker and I think he'll disappear without trace at some middling club that I hope we aren't attempting to mimic - which is why we need shot of the likes of such average ability

I'm surprised none of the ITK's haven't come out with the real story behind this.

Sorry to see NRC go, if only becuase he's been or should have been first choice in midfield defence.

Heaven help us if Makoun and bradley are supposed to be the alternatives, that's championship thinking at its best.

Salifou? Thought he was the black Zidane, where did it all go wrong?

After a good pre-season i am sure Gary Gardner will do a job in the midfield along with Delph and Bannan. Though i do suspect Houllier has someone lined up already to play with Makoun. Reo Coker average at best. And when we see a re vitalised midfield it will become clearer how restricted Reo Coker really was .....

Can not understand why so many are gutted to see NRC gone, The player had basic talent and for a midfielder who struggled to pass say's it all. Yes he played well for the last 6 months maybe because he was trying to get a contract with another club. The Villa deserve a better talent than NRC.

NRC was a defensive Midfielder who did a job, he had 85% of Passes Completed (only Petrov betters that at 86%)  and made the most tackles per game at an average of 3.3. He was dispossessed on average 1.2 times a game but leading that group was Ashley Young at 1.9 times a game.

I'm sure we could do better but I liked him, he played like we would all play, with fire in his belly, I only wish a couple of the others could take a leaf out of his book. Good Luck to him.

Nice facts, Just shows how poor we have been in centre midfield this season if NRC nearly beats Petrov in pass completion.
