I like Westwood.

Al Habsi also impressed me at Wigan.

Some real big bastard, from the frozen wastes of Northern Scandinavia or Siberia. 6ft 8 with hands like shovels. He won't need to come for crosses or set pieces, no opposition forward will be foolish enough to go anywhere near him.

How about Ivan Drago from Lokomotiv Dogski and Duckzov?

Not Foster
Not Green
Not Robinson
Not Kirkland

Keep Brad for another season and get Westwood. If Brad goes sign Given.

Wasn't he in Rocky IV?

I understand Friedel wants the security of a 2 year contract having recently been made bankrupt, which is quite understandable.  Irregardless of this we need to move on.

Westwood is being heavily linked to Sunderland tonight.

Robinson's got over that rocky spell he endured at Spurs and for me is back to his best when he was England's number one keeper.

Westwood is out of contract, but from what I have seen of Ali Al Habsi I would go for him.

Stekelenburg? I'd be surprised if we limited ourselves to UK-based goalies, to be honest.

I purchased him on Football Manager 2010 ... he conceded 10 goals all season.

On that basis, he must be excellent.

If Westwood is available on a free then he is a no brainer, it's a question of whether we can convince Friedel to stay another year.  That's the financially intelligent decision.

Ajax are Dutch champions so we can chalk Skeleton off the list.  His understudy, Jeroen Verhoeven a.k.a. "Meatball" or "Pizza" might be available.

Robinson & Foster for me.

Igor Akinfeev, he's only 6'1, but he's got reflexes out the wazoo and balls and fists of steel.

Allan McGregor is class, but he wants to sign a new contract so cant see it
Foster, Green, Robinson would all be brilliant, Robinson been stunning last 2 years, Green has so many shots to save he's bound to make a mistake every so often, same goes for Foster, in fact if it wasn't for Foster theyd have been relegated before Spammers

I do like Friedel, but he doesn't command his area enough for me, its a big worry

Robinson, Green, Kirkland - no thanks.

All three are totally gaffe-prone, and turn the saying about goalkeepers regularly earning points for the team on it's head.

Should really be Friedel wiith a good young keeper to play at least 50% of the games.
