The reason Managers like the PL is that generally they get paid a lot more here than elsewhere.
I think Villa is potentially the bigest job around in England after Chelsea at the moment.

Two bigger reasons are the fact they get more responsibility regarding player signings and sales and the boards are usually more patient than on the continent (Unless it's Chelsea ironically)

That goes a long way to explaining Benitez's desire to come back to manage in this country.  He was paid more in Italy than he was at Liverpool.

Could be a big thing in our favour with Ancelotti too. He'd have far more say in the running of the team than he ever did at Chelsea and there's no chance he'd have players foisted upon him as with Torres.

If we get Ancelotti I don't think the word excited is strong enough to describe how I'd be feeling.

If we were to get Ancelotti it would be reminiscent of the Darren Bent signing.  It would be totally unexpected and would further prove that the board are still fully committed to getting the club into the CL no matter what it costs.  I also think Downing would stay, though as far as Ash is concerned I think that horse has already bolted.  Still, I think it's a given that we will end up with Hughes.  We'll see.

Don't forget strong Italian football connection with National Team and AC Milan connection with Fabio Capella and if he talk to Martin / Gerard a lot, he probably will find out what a wonderful club to work for. So if he talk to Carlo he can advise him to go for it.

Aston Villa will be the English AC Milan.

I like the sound of that!

The thought of Ancellotti as manager and Martin Laursen (who now holds his badges and was signed by Ancellotti for Milan) as assistant is mind boggling. Being reported Ancellotti is staying at a hotel in the Birmingham area also Lerner due back in England in the next 24hrs .........Avillafan.com

This really is building momentum. And we need a massive name to keep our club in the running  as a serious contender again for a CL place. This season has seriously seen us slip back. We are currently seen as a top 10 side and having finished 6th three seasons in a row. We need re establish our status ........

It's a shame Pirlo's just signed for Juve, as I reckon Carlo could have tempted him over here for a couple of years.

I had to pick someone up from the Billesley Manor hotel in Warwickshire earlier today

I saw a man wearing a italian style grey suit with grey hair walk through the entrance as I was in my car

I didn't see his face and I was about 300 metres away but what are the chances of that happening today after this speculation?

Its looking good.

I'd love it to be Carlo. He's the sort of manager who could put us back on the footballing map. He likes youth too, and we have a quality academy. Okay, he may see it as a stepping stone, but if he were to win a trophy or get us in the top 4, and leave a good base to pass on to decent successor, then great.
