He hasnt been a fixture for them this year and they will no doubt go and buy even better players so it's the law of the footballing jungle. He'll play even less next season or not at all. Ridiculous, I know. But quite possible.
Of City's 36 Prem Lge games this season he's started 22 and come on in 8, so that's 30 out of 35 apps... he's hardly been left out in the cold has he?

''Established international''? The odd sub appearance and he rarely starts for England (or Citeh).
The only England game he hasn't played in since he left us was Montenegro when he was suspended. Of the other 7 he's started 5 and come on in 2.

Any player with ambition wants to play Champions League - I can't see Milner giving up that chance without a fight.
I can't for the life of me think why people on here think he'll come back here to earn less money and possibly be in a relegation scrap.

Would love it to happen but I can't see him turning  his back on champions league football and the huge wages he's on to come back here- if he leaves city he will go somewhere like Liverpool in my opinion but I expect him to stay at city another year at least.

I agree after yesterday's result I think he will stay with them or move onto a team playing in Europe next year, maybe not stoke though.

He's played in something like half of Man Citys games this season (28) scoring 1 goal. So no, he's not a fixture as I said.
I dont think he'll come back here for one moment but he could be squeezed out there when they start buying new players.

I think he'll be there for one more season, after which their midfield will resemble something like an all star team and he'll quite likely move on - probably on loan or a makeweight for the next big thing

Heard that Manshitty are having a £100M clear out this summer to make room for £200M additions. So Jimmy could be in that batch.

Doubt it - it'll be the ones that have been there longer, so SWP, RSC (only on loan at Blackburn I believe?), Micah Richards, Adebayor, etc., plus Tevez who's widely tipped to go.  Maybe even Barry.

I'd take Richards and Adebayor off them for a few bob.

They'll spend big, but they won't sign loads. They've been harping on about keeping a settled squad for a while now.

The likes of Given, Vieira, M.Johnson, Wright-Phillips, Jo and Adebayor willl leave.

No way they're selling Milner, he's exactly the player you need for a successful campaign in both the league and Europe - versatile, incredible fitness levels, relatively uncomplaining about rotation and with a fair amount of quality to boot. They will need Milner a lot next season.

You'd think so wouldn't you. We'll see what their 25 looks like come the start of next season.

We know that, but I am not sure that Man City (the club/fans and crucially Mancini) realise what sort of player they have.  They've - until very recently - played Milner as a winger which is not his best position (as we all know).

Seems to me that he is/will be an expensive utility player for them - useful to have as he's English, hard working and versatile, but they won't build a side around him, which we would have. However, the wages and Champions League will surely matter more for him, at least for next season.
