Come back to what you know,
Take everything real slow
I wanna lose you but I can't Let you go.

Before you interfere
Let me make it loud and clear, that you got no more to prove.
I'm a fool.
So take it easy on yourself,
There's nothing new about regretting how you felt.
I'll never let you down,
Or ever feel the way that I've been fearing now.

Coming back to what you know won't mean a thing.
Everything that you've done keeps you from me.
Now I know that I need more time,
Come back and let me see you're right.
I'm coming back to what you know,
Cos I know that I need it now it's gone.
Now I know that I need more time,
Come back and let me see you're eye

So hang on to what you've got, keep it safe.
Hang on to what you've got,
Keep it safe from harm. You'll find.
There's nothing new that we can't leave behind.

Come back to what you know,
Take everything, real slow,
I wanna lose you but I got,
Far too high To let go
Now the demon in me knows,
What I knew so long ago

Coming back to what you know won't mean a thing.
Everything that you've done keeps you from me.
Now I know that I need more time,
Come back and let me see you're right.
I'm coming back to what you know,
Cos I know that I need it now it's gone.
Now I know that I need more time,
Come back and let me see you're right.

So hang on to what you've got, keep it safe.
Hang on to what you've got, keep it safe from harm.
We got time. We got time.

Come back to what you know,
Take everything real slow,
I tried to lose you,
But I got far too close.

West Brom got it's wankers
The Blues got it's bums
Man City got Big James Milner
He's a midfield son of a gun
Yeah, he fast and strong as a man can come
While we're stuck with Heskey the useless Ox
And when Capello's boys get together at night
You know they all call big James "Boss", just because
And they say

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with James

Well outta Milan came a feminine guy
He say I'm lookin' for a man named James
I am minted boy
And I won't be coy
18 million get's me Jim
Yeah I'm lookin' for the king of Villa Park
He Carrying Petrov around
You can have all the money
And it may sound funny
But I'll be fucked if I take Ireland back
Everybody say Roberto don't you know

That you don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim

Well a hush fell over against West Ham
When Jimmy come off the pitch
And when the game was done
The only part that wasn't muddy
Was the soles of the big man's feet
Yeah he was sweating in 'bout a hundred places
And he was shot in a couple more
And you better believe
The Holte told a different kind of story
When James was man of the match, now they say

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with James

Never go back
Only one Villa player has done that and it worked

Ugh..dunno what's worse. The clamour for Lee Evan's son to come back or quoting an Embrace song in full.

Would that be Gordon Cowans?

Actually if you think about it Millner himself did come back and it worked spectacularly well.

It's a very nice thought. We can but hope.
If we'd got Champions League football I could see it happening but we dont and he pretty much left in the hope of better things. Even if he leaves Man City he'll have a pick of other top clubs I think.

But, if you dont ask, you dont get.
He certainly knows he's loved here and that might amount to... something.
???
Is this a Boyzone song?

No, Cannibal Corpse.

If I had to use a cannibal corpse song to describe Milner leaving I'd use gutted

if I had to use a song to describe him coming back i'd use Wretched spawn.

Fuck him

You see, this I'm not sure about.

I like him, think he's a very good player but probably not an elite player. At least, not yet.

It's not just claret tinted specs when I say we (or a side roughly occupying the ground we used to) are about his level. Is he better off being a big player for us -featuring regularly and effectively being the heartbeat of the side- or a bit part player at Abu Dhabi FC or one of the regular top 4, shunted out to the wing and -often- not even starting at all?

I wonder if he had his time again what he'd do. Though I'm sure the weekly wage  cushions the blow somewhat.

I'm sure Gareth Barry would find it curious that we talk about a player who had less than three seasons with us over two spells (and only one really outstanding one) coming home, whereas we reserve dogs abuse for a player who was with us over 10 years.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind having either back. Though obviously Jimmy has more gas in the tank.

I doubt if Milner gives Villa a second thought.

Would have him back in a heartbeat but never going to happen. The sad reality is he's moved on to bigger things, be that at Man Citeh or someone else.

The counter argument i suppose is never in a million years would I have expected us to sign Bent.

If he leaves City, I reckon he'll end up at Chelsea.  I can picture him in a scummy blue shirt.
