Can't stand the man, don't want him anywhere near the club. If he gets the job I'll turn on him even before Risso does. ;-)

Never liked him since Toy Story 2 .    Never trust a man with orange fingers .. Wotsits or not .

I would normally say a big fat no to Rafa but tbh I'd take anyone other than the "dream team" of GH and GMc after suffering this season.

I'd love to see a report suggesting Mourinho was after the Villa job if only to see who and how he'd be dissed by some on here.

Aside from that it appears most people outside of Randy nd his crew seem confident Houllier won't be in charge next season, hopefully.

Jose?  Now way - his teams are too defensive and play poor football.

Seriously though, I'd be torn on Rafa.  Do not, never have and doubt I ever will like the bloke, but his is a good record and he'd attract good players to the club.

Oh Chris, you know full well that even if were on minus a gazillion points in May, you'd be on here defending him with the zeal of a mother weasel protecting her young!

Mourinho - will be sacked by Real this year once Barca beat them to the league and the Champs league final.

Where will he end up... none of the big clubs for various reasons...

Man Utd - Fergie's not going.
Liverpool - King Kenny
Chelsea - won't go back
AC Milan - Inter connections
Real - again obvious...

So Randy, offer him whatever he wants....
(This is all written with a sense of irony!)

It's a no from me for:

1) Having gone off the boil as a manager for the last couple of years
2) Being a similar control freak to MON
3) His teams play negative football.  I switched over whenever Liverpool came on during his time there.
4) He'd probably take his jacket off to reveal a Liverpool shirt when we went to Anfield.
5) Apart from Torres (Which was a great coup I admit) his transfer record at Liverpool wasn't the best.
6) I happen to like Villa's more 'honourable' approach to transfers - Benitez would not fit in with this.

I agree, especially point six. I don't want him to be the face of our club, paranoid rants, talking in tongues,he's not needed at vp.

Not him, nor that prick Hughes.

In fact none of the names put forward so far are particularly inspiring.

Putting aside Chris's weasel like qualities for the moment, if not Rafa, who?

Does anyone really believe, or care about, this, though?

I bet we weren't entirely honourable with the pursuit of Bent, for example.

Quite.  We need to compete on a like for like basis with our peers, so if that means playing dirty with other clubs when it comes to players and managers, so be it.

I couldn't give a stuff about that to be honest, he was doing his best for a club who were our near rivals at the time.  I'd be happy if our club behaved a bit more like that in future to be honest, rather than trying to be the Premier League's "Fairtrade" club.

Not wishing to start an arguement, but I'd be hugely disappointed in our Club if we weren't the Premier League's "Fairtrade" club.
There's nothing wrong with doing things properly.
