Former Players
« on: April 28, 2011, 01:20:25 AM »
Do we have a page anywhere on here for keeping track of former players? If so can someone move this to there please, I couldn't find one. If we haven't then maybe we should, particularly for those whose careers are at a lower level and don't get to make the Sky Sports News tickers.

Anyway...
Brendan Ormsby has recently become the new manager of Pontefract Collieries in the Northern Counties East League. (Their average attendance is 52 and they're in the same division as Askern Villa)

Brendan Ormsby's dad used to drink with my Grandad. I remember he got me a signed team photo in the early 80s! I was chuffed to bits at the time.

Brian Little's managing Gainsborough Trinity. I am considering going to watch them at Solihull Moors on Saturday.

Tony Daley is fitness coach at Wolves and Nigel Spink is keeper coach at Sunderland after a few years in the wilderness of small heath.

Pat Heard is a driving instructor.

I saw him in Great Barr a couple of months ago.

I don't drive - I had a few lessons but my instructor was a tool. I've seriously been considering using Mr Heard's services just so I can chat to him about Villa but I know I'd never pass my test 'cos I wouldn't be concentrating.

Those were the days, when ex-pros became pub landlords.

Eamon Deacy runs a fruit and veg shop in Galway. Back when I was a nipper and only just starting to follow football (and the Villa), he gave me a load of Claret and Blue mags and match programmes to read. So I guess I can thank him for cementing my support for the villa.
