Where do they play?
« on: April 27, 2011, 04:37:52 PM »
Just got this idea from another threading, thinking about it, it might be pointless and boring but........

I'll carry on anyway. I was just thinking about British football teams that don't include their local area/town/city in their name. Someone said Raith wasn't a place so Raith Rovers is one. I can't think of any others, so over to you.........or not.

Port Vale - but then they and Arsenal have had a location associated with their name at some point (Burslem Port Vale and Woolwich Arsenal (not their original name though, that was Dial Square).

Arsenal?

At one point they were Woolwich Arsenal, but I guess they count now.

Anyway, not sure if they really count, but Stoke?  Also, if you go by Chico's rules in the Brum v Manc thread in Off Topic, then Manchester United (Old Trafford being in Trafford and not Manchester).  I also don't think there's a place called Crystal palace is there?
